Good Night - Elias Pettersson
Warnings: none, just my crappy writing. Didn’t put much effort into this one, sorry in advance.
The clock had begun to count down the final minute of game four. The Canucks lead the series 3-0 in the final round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The score was tied at 2, and the excitement within Rogers Arena was electric.
Your right hand was clasped within Emily’s, Brock’s girlfriend. Your left thumb was rubbing the inside of your palm, mainly fumbling with the silver band on your ring finger. You watch as Brock passes the puck to your husband at centre ice. He out maneuvers the defence and suddenly it’s just him and the goalie. You can feel the smirk on Elias’s face as he bring the goalie to the right side only to deek and shot a perfect wrist shot into the top left corner.
The WAG and family suite of Rogers Arena explodes as the goal horn goes off. The pride within you ignites as tears fall down your face.
“Holy shit, Em!” You’re on your feet, Emily rubbing your back as tears fall down your face.
“You’re going to tell him tonight, right?” She asks as the other WAGs pat your back and whisper their congratulations.
You can only nod into Emily’s shoulder.
“He’s going to be stoked,” Emily smiles as she pulls away from you. “Let’s go down and meet them.”
You intertwine your arm in hers as you make your way down to the ice. Your husband is in the middle of the ice, surrounded by his team and the media. A smile breaks its way onto your face as his eyes meet yours.
The joy is evident on his face as he excuses himself from the interview he was engaged in and skated over to you on the bench.
“I’m so freaking proud of you, baby” You reach out and cup his cheeks. “That was the most amazing goal of your career.”
Elias chuckles. “Any goal I score when you’re watching is the most amazing goal of my career.”
“That was super cheesy.” You giggle, pulling his face to yours.
“Only for you, my love.” Elias’s hands wrap around your waist, pulling you even closer into him.
“Hey lovebirds! Over here.” Quinn Hughes yells from the middle of the ice, where he and Troy Stetcher are holding the Cup over their heads.
With a slight groan, Elias pulls away. Keeping his hand in yours, he aids you into the ice. You make your way slowly back in the chaos of celebration. Troy smiles excitedly as he sees you both, he knows your secret. He hands Elias the cup.
Your phone comes out of your pocket at the sight of your husband holding the cup. Elias smiles immediately, posing and celebrating.
“Get in there with him.” Troy says as he snatches your phone from your hands.
You giggle and waddle carefully over to Elias. His free hand cups you waist as you pose with the cup. You tug on his jersey, wanting his attention. He turns to you, smile huge, hair pushed back behind his champion baseball cap they’d been given after the game was won.
“Elias.” You smile. “I’m pregnant.”
There’s a slight pause and the click of a camera as Elias’s smile grows even more than you thought possible.
“Shit, Bo!” He turns to his teammate. “Grab the cup, man.”
You pause for second, confused.
As Bo grabs the cup, Elias picks you up. Spinning on the ice, he presses kisses all over your face.
“The Cup and a baby. I don’t think tonight could be more perfect.” There are tears in his eyes. “Thank you, my love.”
