if people don’t stop bean souping me on my post about not wearing gloves to touch rare books and manuscripts I’m going to Lose. It. like yes I promise you I am aware that there are some very specific exceptions like arsenic green binding or certain metals or other hazardous materials you wouldn’t want to touch with your bare hands. the post, however, was about how people will not shut the fuck up about “where are the gloves?!?” any time any professional touches a manuscript or rare book with clean, dry hands instead of gloves, which is the archival best practice in the vast majority of cases! pleaseeeeee read the fucking room bro
