This girl, in Odessa, might be saving Ukraine. Otherwise, at least she gets to take the horse out for a spin.

A bull elk catches a camera string in his antlers, triggering a flash. Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, July 1913.Photograph by George Shiras, National Geographic
This is a pretty rad game camera shot from 100 years ago.
Too bad the federal government is shut down. I hope I get a chance to use my National Parks pass this winter.
Can you guess what this is a map of? There is a certain coffee shop (or should I say classy donut shop) that dominates the East coast, except for Manhattan apparently. The other one (based in Seattle and every airport on the planet) dominates the West.
I have to say, the Boston Globe does a great job with the visualizations in this article.
The map is wrong. There is only one Frosty's. Also, can we please dunk in Denver?
London. 1927. Color.
Look at the roads! People are a bit cavalier about the rules. Are the people skinny because they walk?
Looks like your gun-filled Utah cabins are safe again!
This is what I did last weekend. (Kind of.)
Srapin on my scraper bike. Sorry, y'all, I'm out until next week.
It looks like Scarpa is having a big sale. Maybe it's time to pick up that baller Maestrale RS or Gea RS. It seems like everybody likes them.
Or, if you're an idiot, you could get the older, heavier, and poorer-performing F1 Carbon (but moooooommmmmm, it's carbon!!!) for $164 more than the Alien. It's up to you, I guess.
The Kiwis are teaching their dogs to drive.

Strapping. I prefer just using skis. It's easier than going freestyle and more fun too. Also, snow makes great TP.
Monday Tuesday morning stoke.
It's unseasonably warm here these days and, without work yesterday, I went for a road bike ride with my friends. It was lovely. Hopefully we get some snow soon, but if we don't then we'll just need to ride more. And put this on the schredule.
David Bowie's new single off his upcoming album. It's something.
Which is the best one (park, not logo)? I'm partial to Acadia. And Grand Teton and RMNP. And I really want to spend some time in the Grand Canyon, Rainier, Glacier, and especially Wrangell-St. Elias.
