This is probably kinda bad but something about how Mulder and Scully are both so relatable in such strange and interesting ways, the way everyone around Mulder at the FBI keeps reminding him over and over of what he used to be and remind him what a laughingstock he and the X-Files are as though anyone lets him forget, making it so clear that they just see him as a big blob of wasted potential except this is who he's always been, it's just not convenient and palatable to the FBI anymore so he's relegated to Basement and why can't he just be the old version of himself again except did that version ever exist I don't know I just watch this show as it appears on comet he's always wanted to find his sister and the truth it was just more packagable before and more useful to everyone else I guess I don't know

And Scully's a scientist but she has her faith and it's something that's so important to her because the two don't have to be mutually exclusive nor should they have to be because if we knew for sure it wouldn't be called "faith" now would it and they're both such important parts of her but she struggles with her faith sometimes and it's just another example of wanting to believe but she's a skeptic too but not always that skeptic necessarily because it never is that simple and the human experience can't be put into neat little boxes and neither can the human condition

Dunno if this is the ocd or the x-files brainrot or a secret third thing talking but I feel the need to make sure that anyone I spend a decent amount of time with knows all my identifying marks or whatever the hell the word is, i.e., all the moles/freckles on my face/hands, all my visible piercings, just in case of the unlikely event that I die under mysterious circumstances that entail not having any ID on me.
