Hacking Your Furby Connect the Quick and Easy Way
Here it is as promised. YOU WILL NEED:
The Google Chrome dev app, found on the play store here.
A furby connect, obviously.
1. Turn on your furby connect and enable Bluetooth on your phone.
2. Navigate to this page in Google Chrome Dev on your phone and push the "connect" button. This utility is called FurBLE, it uses furby's Bluetooth connection to essentially remote control him.
3. The app will scan for your furby, as shown. Select it and click "pair". You should see a green banner afterwards that says "connected".
4. Here comes the fun part! By typing in the action codes listed on this page into the boxes on the Action Sequences page, you can make your furby connect do anything you want.
5. FurBLE's Antenna page is right what it says on the tin. It allows you to temporarily change the colour of furby's antenna.
6. Here's the coolest bit: you can also use the DLC page to upload different sets of DLC to your furby. If you go back to the actions page, there will be a button there to make it do the action you uploaded. NOTE/WARNING: FurBLE seems to upload every DLC to the same slot, so if you upload more than one at a time, the data gets jumbled. You can see this on my furby. FurBLE may also be unable to activate the DLC after using Jeija's FluffD client, a utility that is a topic for a whole different post. Resetting your furby completely by turning them upside down, pulling their tail, and pressing on their tongue for ten seconds will erase any DLC you loaded, but it will also reset the furby to its factory settings.
7. Finally, in the Debug tab, you can open up the debug menu in furby's eyes, as shown in the picture the other day:
Tap the debug menu button to cycle through different pages of it. You can even disconnect from the furby while the menu is on to keep it open. The numbers for your furby's stats update in (mostly) real time.
And there you have it! Here's a video of Whispers in action:
I have no idea what he sounds like, because I'm too lazy to re-enable the speaker.
