(in no particular order but using numbers for visual purposes)
However much water you normally drink in a day, try to increase that by 50-100%. Crying, sweating, stress in general is going to increase how much water your body is consuming, so give it a lil extra than usual.
Do something creative with your hands. It doesn't have to be good, good isn't the goal - the act of making something tangible is what's important here.
Eat. Set reminders if you're unable to feel queues naturally, or exceptionally light if you're nauseated, but eat all the same. If you can manage it, however, eat something comforting and heavy calorically to carry you.
Keep your feet on the ground. I know it's less comfy than curling up in bed/on the couch. Do it anyway. The ground in this scenario can even be the bed/couch so long as they are flat against a surface.
Get a little treat today. I know finances are tight, and that feels selfish, but even something from the dollar store counts if it brings you the tiniest spark of joy.
Set timers when interacting with media that you know is going to spin you up and close it when it goes off. You can check election news, social media, etc, but the timers are there to help give you a sense of the passage of time so you're not stuck there.
Massage your face. There's a ton of tension stored in those thin, tiny muscles, and right now more than ever they're gonna need manual loosening.
Go outside for at least five minutes and find a small peice of it to bring with you. A rock, a leaf, a fallen chunk of bark...something of the Earth to tether yourself to.
Lean on your chosen and trusted community. Really. Outstretch your arms and grasp them in your fist so they know you have them and they have you. We need each other and you're not a burden for acknowledging that.
Wiggle your body. Rigidity is the body killer, gotta wiggle it out when you consciously notice you haven't moved in a while.
Comfort media. A show, a video game, a movie - watch something that is to you a mental and emotional blanket.
This is for everyone who needs a ladder to cling to. I suggest doing as many of these as you can, especially if you dont want to, because despair is sticky... it is so much easier to get sucked into that pit instead of clinging by bloody, blistered fingers to hope.
Today is about surviving. We can figure out the next steps tomorrow.
