Days 15 // 21: ❝CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT❞
Night owl for the most part. She can't stand having to get up in the morning and it actually puts her in a slightly depressing mood. Of course, if she's incredibly tired you'll find Sunmi knocked out by 10:30PM. But normally she can stay up until 2AM no sweat.
16.) Are there any blood relatives that your character is particularly close with, besides the immediate ones? Cousins, Uncles, Grandfathers, Aunts, et cetera. Are there any others that your character practically considers a blood relative?
Sunmi's paternal grandfather always had her at his hip when she was a young girl. They had the same eyes, same laugh, and same distaste for her grandmother's (salty) soup.
17.) What’s your character’s desk/workspace look like? Are they neat or messy?
The pens and clips are in neat compartments and every appliance is set up in an orderly way, but there's plenty of papers stashed in a messy pile off to the side.
18.) Is your character a good cook? What’s their favorite recipe, whether they’re good or not? (Microwave mac-and-cheese applies.)
A good cook? She's phenomenal for a beginner! Really, give her any recipe and she'll be able to follow it pretty well.
19.) What’s your character’s preferred means of travel?
Tour buses and coaches. Anything spacious so she can spread out and take a nap.
20.) Does your character have any irrational fears?
Doors being open when she's asleep/in the dark, being crawled on by some bug, being left alone in public places.
21.) What would your character’s cutie mark be?
A pear maybe? Something food related since she'd definitely be an earth pony.
reluctant aegyo. (。・//ε//・。)
Days 8 // 14: ❝Character Development❞
Ice Cream Flavor: Cookies & Creme!
Color: Deep, dark purple
Song: Dali Van Picasso - Beenzino
Flower: Orchids
9.) Who does your character trust?
Her parents and her childhood friend, completely that is. She technically loans out "trial trust". Once you lie, she won't trust you at all.
10.) Can you define a turning point in your character’s life? Multiples are acceptable.
Going into high school is when Sunmi first started to view women with sexual attraction. She was curious about how variations of the curves she herself had could be so interesting and...beautiful. About why she found herself being a little handsy with friends all the time. And maybe why her first kiss was with one of her old bestfriends, a girl slightly older than her.
11.) Is there an animal you equate with your character?
A cat maybe? She likes to do her own thing, though she always knows where home is and wouldn't do a thing to jeopardize her relationship with someone she knows has been helpful to her.
12.) How is your character with technology? Super savvy, or way behind the times? Letters or email?
She is your regular tech-efficient youth! No really, Sunmi is that kid that jiggles wires around or flips a switch and automatically everything is working like brand new. You know...that one that doesn't read the user manual and still manages to put things together perfectly? Plus she texts everything. Can't be bothered to check email notifications nor actually sit and write out a letter. Ugh. 13.) What does your character’s bed look like when he/she wakes up? Are the covers off on one side of the bed, are they all curled around a pillow, sprawled everywhere? In what position might they sleep?
The comforter is tucked around her, two pillows beneath her head and the other two keeping the other side of the bed company. She's either stretched flat on her stomach with her arms folded beneath a pillow, or curled up on her side in something like the fetal position.
14.) How does your character react to temperature changes such as extreme heat and cold?
If there's one thing Sunmi hates, it's being cold. Now of course being hot it pretty horrible too, but she'd rather go on vacation to Rio in spring than Denver in winter. With cold weather she complains endlessly, but the heat is just a reason to break out shorts and buy ice cream.
♡ man up a little ₍sunmi + shane₎
Throngs of students turned out to the athletic complex and fields, the sun's overbearing heat cut by some steady wind. It'd been months since Sunmi touched the track, slipped on her spikes, and squeezed into her white compression shorts. The feeling was satisfyingly familiar although the laziness she'd settled into this winter would be hard to shake off. It had to be a shared issue as she heard the lazy crack of someone hitting a baseball wrong, followed by someone on the center field tripping over their own feet trying to dribble past a halfback. They all needed help.
It was one, two, three laps around their track, the black material seemingly embracing her feet with each pace like it missed her too. She took effortless strides and even managed to wave to those standing nearby. My loyal subjects, she thought. Everyone should be running with me on the track whether they're like Usain Bolt or Tiger Woods. It's good for the heart rate, their complexions will look healthy-- She rambled on in her mind to spare the other students a conversation they would most likely tune out on.
On a nearby lone set of bleachers, Sunmi collapsed in a heap of tired bones and muscle. Her hip felt a little funny, she was sure she twisted her ankle a bit on the last curve, and some boy running alongside her didn't know how to stay in his lane. All she wanted to do was be carried back to her room and left to soak in the tub for an hour...or four. It was the promises she made to herself of a eucalyptus salt scrub and mounds of french fries that peeled her from the wooden seats and onto the pathway back to main campus.
Another crack pierced the air far back towards the baseball field, someone had actually had a good hit this time. Well, good for them since it seemingly went rocketing almost into outerspace. Bad for Sunmi since the damned thing decided to target her calf as it re-entered Earth. The pain reverberated through her whole leg and thigh like ripples in a pond, spreading what was sure to later become an ugly bruise. She stooped down to grab the little white sphere and hobbled over towards the gates separating the diamond from open field. It was more of a pathetic limp and hop combo, as the sore muscle flared up with every correct step.
She couldn't help but notice the whole team was out today, some in sleeveless shirts and some shirtless altogether. They were going to tan if they stayed out any longer...which couldn't be a bad thing. A shot up from her leg to her hip snatched Sunmi's focus back to real reason she'd trekked across two fields, before kicking the fence with her good foot.
Trying her best to look mad but not intimidating, she opted for a classic "arms crossed" pose rather than the motherly "hands on hips" gesture that would dampen any mood. "Excuse me! One of you! No...not you, go back to base." She sorted through the closer players to single out one senior. She wasn't sure of what his name was, but she knew he was one of the quieter types. In retrospect, it didn't make since to choose someone that would probably rather avoid social contact, but she didn't want to get stuck with someone that'd use her disgruntlement as a reason to break from practice.
Days 1 // 7: ❝Character Development❞
Sunmi gets along with her parents just fine. If there was a manual on how to raise a child complete with how much attention to give, when to schedule feedings, and how to hand out punishments they really highlighted and bookmarked the hell out of it.
2.) What are your characters most prominent physical features?
Sunmi has almost babyish cheeks and wide, open eyes.
3.) Name one scar your character has, and tell us where it came from. If they don’t have any, is there a reason?
There's a jagged scar on the bottom of her foot from stepping on broken glass twelve years back.
4.) How vain is your character? Do they find themselves attractive?
Sunmi actually realizes that she's pretty and takes compliments very well, but doesn't dwell on appearances. She's more of a "I know I'm not unattractive" person than someone to squawk "I KNOW I'M PRETTY LOVE ME LIKE I LOVE ME"
5.) What’s your character’s ranking on the Kinsey Scale?
A shaky 2. Can 2.5 be a thing?
6.) Describe your character’s happiest memory.
The first time she was old enough to really remember going to the states, her parents took her to Walt Disney World in Orlando. She'd pulled her hair up in a bun and gotten a little Tinkerbell costume to prance around in. It was amazing to see so many other kids (and adults too) that were all wide-eyed with wonder, and meet the characters usually only confined to the playback of her "Cinderella" VHS or a Mickey Mouse Club House Saturday morning cartoon.
7.) Is there one event or happening your character would like to erase from their past? Why?
In the second grade, Sunmi tried to style her own hair for picture day and ended up burning a significant amount of it before her mom had to cut it into a boy's short bowl-cut style. She hated it so much and kids at school would call her Sunming. She never really got over how embarrassing this was and even wanted to go as far as transferring schools.
Hi, welcome to the uni!
