Let’s adore...two tube trains

These two disused tube train carriages have been perched above Great Eastern Street in Shoreditch for over 15 years. Actually the mural below reads “Let’s adore and endure each other”. I’m equally as good with “Let’s adore”.

“Victory and Death” Review.

The final is episode is a short one, but it manages to do what Season 6 could not. End the story on a remarkable note. 

Jesse is now in charge of the 322nd since Rex removed his chip. Unfortunately, Rex realizes that there is no saving his men,and that he and Ahsoka are going to be the only ones making out alive.

Maul, on the other hand, destroys the reactor causing the ship to exit hyperspace, sending it into a moon. He escapes by stealing Ahsoka’s shuttle, saying “You wanted this chaos!” He also does a KEEENOBIEEEE scream, but only the BIEEEE part. This may be the last time we ever see him in canon.

With the ship falling apart, Ahsoka and Rex look for anything that can fly. Sadly, R7 and the other droids get killed by Jesse and the Clones, leaving Ahsoka and Rex to take an old Y-wing and escape while the cruiser crashes to ground.

The interesting thing about this episode is that for the last 6 minutes, there is no talking. Just taking in the moment. The Clone Wars just ends in defeat, for everyone, as Ahsoka and Rex bury the dead, which sadly includes Jesse.

Ahsoka then drops her lightsaber and leaves with Rex as their new life begins. Years later, the empire comes - and with brand-new clone wars-style armor! They appear to be searching the wreckage of the cruiser.

Then comes Darth Vader -- no longer the skinny-face Rebels-version, but now a full-on ROTS style menace. He sees Ahsoka’s lightsaber that she dropped, and turns it on. While this is happening, you can actually see his eyes through his helmet, showing that he truly cared for her, and now he believes she is dead.

As he walks away, the final shot pans to a clone helmet covered in snow, showing that the clone army is no more, and the clone wars are finally over.

At first, I was saddened by the way this ended, but I realized that there was no way to end The Clone Wars on a happy note. In the end, this two year journey of bringing back the Clone Wars was well worth it, even though the 5-8 episodes are lame. This was truly meant to be the end of a Saga, the true Star Wars Saga, not some Disney fan-fic movies that did more harm than good.

As I look into the future, I realize that there is only one story left to tell: The finding of Ezra and Thrawn. With Ahsoka at the helm, and knowing Rex also survived, I would love to see these characters return together in their quest to find Ezra. Then, and only then, will Dave Filoni’s chapter be complete.

I feel like Dave Filoni is the only one who knows how to make Star Wars now, and I am thankful that he has been given the opportunity to work on the Mandalorian. Nothing else that Disney Star Wars has done has been worth it, so to have Rebels and Clone Wars and maybe even a final series, to that I say, thank you Dave FIloni...for everything.
