First drawing of the year in my new tiny sketchbook.

First true traditional charcoal exploration, first of firsts for 2019.

I don’t really know how to use Charcoal so I winged everything as usual.

I can’t wait to see how much I can really improve over the course of the next twelve months.

Please let me know your thoughts- feedback helps, especially since THIS is the year I’m finally going to be devoting much of my efforts to actual art study in an academic way (not classes- I mean hardcore, purposeful, strict self practice of a far more disciplined species than what I’ve always ever done).

I see a lot of artists do this and I finally decided to REALLY compare.

Originally, I was trying to nail down a lineless style and it was awful. For some reason the original is one of my top 3 favorited pics on Deviant Art (my Markiplier painting and my Chen Stormstout pic take 1st and second now) so that’s why I decided this was the perfect pic to compare then to now.

I think I’ve improved. What do you guys think?

Recent art pieces plus tattoo design I’ve been working on. I feel like my art is really progressing. I’ve been putting a lot of time and effort into my college art class so I’m glad to see some improvement especially with traditional realism pieces.

Drawing a long flowing tail:

Drawing the rest:

mark out it out ,like ,so starting from the top or bottom

Then mark out the base thickness and the tip of the tail

Start marking out more thinkness bit gradually tapering to the tip

Connect it all and then clean up❣️
