Ser Hermenost de la Treaumaille
Ser Hermenost the Levinlight
“Cast off the trappings and tempations of this world. Only by Her grace can we know true fulfillness.”
Ser Hemenost was a veteran of thirty and six years, who joined the Heavens’ Ward during the tenure of the previous archimandrite. The son of a merchant, he was a man of deep and abiding faith whose pious mother read to him passages from the Enchiridion every night as when he was a child - an education which would later influence him to reject the family trade and become a friar of the church.
He spent his younger years in peaceful prayer and service until he was encouraged to undergo military training in order to better protect the monastery in the event of a Dravanian attack. The Temple Knight instructors were so impressed with his axework that they challenged him themselves, and after each was soundly defeated, he was summoned to the Vault, where he was granted a knighthoof and extended an invitation to the Heavens’ Ward.
Ser Hermenost was also a formidable mage capable of unleashing devastating attacks by imbuing his battleaxe with lightning, a feat which earned him the title of “the Levinlight.”
My Personal Guide To The Heavens’ Ward (And Thordan VII)
“Cast off the trappings and temptations of this world. Only by Her grace can we know true fulfillment.” - Ser Hermenost de la Treaumaille
Unsurprisingly, this track sounds amazing with a full orchestra and choir.
💣 - Are they a trickster? Would they ever play a prank on someone, even if it was potentially dangerous?
He can be. If goaded enough he can quite easily be prone to a small trick or two. Usually nothing dangerous and nothing he would not think the other capable of handling. Ser Guerrique on quite a few occasions found arm wrestling matches with the Levinlight quite the shocking turn of events.
[Thanks for the ask!]
“I must say I was not sure what to expect at this Moonfire faire,” he offered before pausing for a moment, “Though it was something we both agreed would be interesting to explore. With how the posters advertised and the people talked it seemed interesting. Not really either of our typical types of entertainment but still something to see. I must say I think Levin was just as curious, even about the fireworks.”
Hermenost paused and gave a quiet chuckle as he gazed at the small cat staring up at the shining lights and stars above. After a moment he turned to Rinalys and added, “I am glad now we came as it seems you both are having a lovely time.”

Seven Things
Describe seven things your character has on their person at all times (or, y’know, most of the time :P)
Hermenost
1) Gil pouch, more than an average amount.
2) A small pocket size book with hand written poems and passages from back in his days when he was a friar.
3) Linkpearl that ties him to the others though it’s rarely on.
4) His weapon and a dagger concealed in his boot.
5) A well loved Halonic rosary tucked into a pocket. Though in recent times it has been left untouched.
6) A small first aid kit of the bare basics. Enough to patch himself up and get to safety to further tend any wounds.
7) Not quite ‘on his person’ but with him at all times is the coeurl kitten he took in in LaNoscea. Levin has a tendency to follow even if told not to.

“You’re hiding a painful burden.”
He looked up from the tea to rest chartreuse eyes on the small woman. Lips turned into a wry smile before he exhaled and closed his eyes.
“An understatement if I have ever heard one,” he murmured quietly. Though he had always tried to maintain the image of strength and stability he found small moments where a crack in his armor would show through to what lay beneath. A man who had seen hell and back, who had been made to question his beliefs, his faith, his loyalties and himself. To be fair he had not been expecting to run into her here, nor anyone. The small tavern and restaurant was well away from Limsa proper and yet here she stood.
Hermenost gave a small sigh and moved slightly to gesture to the seat beside him at the small table, “I shall not trouble you with the weight of my transgressions. Instead please, sit and share a cup of tea with me. It is a relaxing and soothing hobby I came to enjoy quite some time ago.”
A motion was made to the barkeep for another cup and a new pot of tea which were soon enough placed upon the table. Money exchanged and again the two were left to themselves. With a skill borne from many times doing it Hermenost prepared another cup of tea and gently set it before her.
“Please, enjoy.”

🌻 - Do they care for nature?
He does. Hermenost enjoys the simple beauty of nature and how relaxing it can be at times. Nature can be chaotic as well and in that he finds a wild beauty. Before the calamity in his early days growing up he used to enjoy walks among the green hills and trees of Coerthas to clear his head. This was a pastime he enjoyed even after becoming a friar. When Ishgard became the icy frozen land it is now he moved to keeping a small tree and a few other small plants in his chambers to help him find peace and relaxation throughout the days and trying times. After the events of the singularity reactor he finds himself in La Noscea at first and the lush greenery is much appreciated and subsequently cared for as he faces the trials and turmoils he must overcome with his return. So yes, he cares for nature very much.

Left within the veteran’s study was a small bag accented with a black ribbon and a small lavender sprig. Its contents revealed a handful of bubble chocolates upon opening it. A letter also rested underneath the bag. “To Ser Hermenost, Happy Valentione's Day. This is simply a gift for all the hard work you’ve done for Ishgard. I’m probably getting a lot of exercise running around the Vault right now from giving these away. I’m have no ill intentions I promise. -Crow”
A curious look covered his face at the small parcel on his desk, eyebrow raised as he moved over to pick it up. The lavender and ribbon however told him much as did the note he found beneath it. As he read a smile slipped on in place of the confusion and Hermenost gave a slight shake of his head. That she had thought of him was flattering and had been kind enough to grace him with a gift of friendship. Carefully he plucked one chocolate free and popped it into his mouth. Chartreuse eyes shut as he savored the small treat and gave a quiet sound of appreciation.
Carefully he tied the small bag back up and sat it down as he mulled over how to repay the kindness. There had been a few tomes she had discussed when last they spoke of literature and had been unable to otherwise obtain copies of. Perhaps one of those would be a suitable way to convey his appreciation of her friendship, strange though it was at times. With a slight nod he made ready to go to the Jeweled Crozier and see about obtaining a copy and having it delivered to her at work that evening.
