I already had a fun little dynamic going between J Lizzy, Thad, and Tessa in DaGOI- but because of J’s habits in this special- it’s giving me extra fodder to work with now

thoughts on the lack of jessa in the short 💔🥹

while there’s obviously no solid mention lol, building J’s characterization and habits is always good for the Jessa.

not thinking about them as much in the context of the video (shocking I know), I’m mostly just rotating the team/family dynamic of the squad and how it builds J to be this almost thankless older sibling. Someone who has to cover up the horrors of their actual reality while also being “naive” herself. Yes I’m taking that Santa joke and extrapolating it - J deserves to not worry and be whimsical too.

Key things I’m looking at and twisting in my jessa addled mind:

1. We know J has an awful attitude. Often times people see Tessas own personality and go “how did they get along.” Among other reasons I’ve already mentioned- being the closest two at the manor, Tessa was probably the only person to see that silly relaxed side of J. And it makes me scream

2.

whatever I’m normal, I’m so normal

3. J’s penchant for wanting to hang out with human skeletons made me feel some sort of way.

4. Her staring listlessly, perturbed even, over desecrated bodies… also made me feel some sort of way.

Love the ao3 on J comic. I bet she'd love doing that more than once, gives her the chance to "descretly" gaze into Tessa's eyes for hours

im just going to repost some thoughts here:

8 minutes of J in 2026- and I was giggling the whole time....

the fact we got to see more team dynamic, pleased me so much. j seemingly pretty close with V- N coming to J when his tummy hurts, big sister J extra confirmed.

a confirmation she still draws as a way of reimagining her surrounding with her office covered in skyscrapers, note the sunlight gleaming ove the top. her ass misses it

her messy "lounge" that she frequents and gets sloshed in. girl the escapism of it all, and having to be dragged back to her awful reality.

the well put together business person who has bad habit, yes I did enjoy her drinking LMFAO. her getting sloshed on her own, with only the company of dead human skeletons- entirely sad and funny in its own right, her idea of relaxing? being silly and actually getting down. is that why you cant stand N at times J? he gets to be oblivious and himself?

as soon as she got that call she was petrified, sobering her up instantly. Cyn also knowing the anxiety it causes, doing it to torture a bit more. confirmation on top of what we already know that her being on Cyn's team is solely from fear.

after that call she hugged that worker drone head for comfort, and every instance of contemplation afterward her ass was staring listlessly at dead worker drone bodies. yes actually, I do think shes also feeling levels of guilt and reluctance!

the key moment in all of this is that its very "team member" heavy. which is the heart of the short imo- like actually J does feel better when the others are around. J is purposefully keeping secrets concealed to protect them!

what stands out to me in her moment of confusion when V throws her that Jcjenson pen , her brows immediately furrow down at it " oh thats-", and then she remembers herself. I really believe the pen is not what she cared for here- more so the symbolic kindness it represented. what the company represents- the illusion that keeps the team safe, the "family" as J called it.

I scream.

I gotta say, your Flesha design is my favorite of the ones I've seen. I really like how it seems more like Tessa than a drone fit inside one yet clearly 'way' too flexible for a normal human and also falling apart. Evil flexible zombie but fast. I love it, thank you for it

awww thank you! I really enjoy drawing her, like- almost everything is normal, but slightly off, always gets to me with horror. your brain recognizes that she looks like a human, but certainly isnt functioning like one :)
