why is it so hard to find good fabrics for projects????

it is finally a good time of year for me to learn how to sew with a sewing machine, I know what I want to make for a first project (the batwing dress), but I cannot for the life of me find decent fabrics for it.

I don't want to order them online because I can't tell what textures and colors they really are from photos, but out of everything locally available, I maybe found like only one bolt of fabric that might work for the velvet-like red part of the dress. Nothing for the sheer layer that isn't covered in glitter or patterned, and I have no idea what to use for the striped top part. we literally only have one option in this area for where to get custom-cut fabric by the yard, because the only other place we would set foot in went bankrupt.

why is it so hard to get into doing craft tasks.

Maybe this is me being aroace but the fact that two or more people can fall in love with each other is so damn beautiful. Like what are the chances of people being in love at the same time, and for it to then turn into a real relationship. It genuinely feels like such a magical thing that happens despite everything awful that’s around.

So anyway bloodloathing-

(But fr, it especially applies to those two. The idea of them being able to go from such a messy, hate fuelled connection to something genuinely beautiful and full of love is so lovely to think about. Like as much as I enjoy them being toxic and that definitely being something I need to explore soon, there’s also such a lovely story to be told in this. Two souls who seemed to be destined to fight managing to defy that and go from enemies to friends to eventually lovers. Breaking past the odds and finding love in the remnants of something so hate filled. Idk I’m an emotional mess right now but I really really like them and wanted to post this somewhere.)
