Still learning
I feel like I made this mistake before, but...
Today the Chinese teacher was explaining verb completion (过,了) using a base example sentence:
每天我吃一个苹果
“Every day I eat an apple”
Which I repeated as:
每天我吃一个朋友
“Every day I eat a friend” 🤔😳
Thank you, Robinhood; I’m sure I will...
After playing two horror games yesterday (Visage on PC, Resident Evil 7 VR on PSVR), I arrived this morning at the gym to find a dimly lit locker room, and for a second was like “I’m not so sure if I should go in here...”
Want to watch Westworld season 1 again even though I just finished it...
Went with friends to Paradise’s (gay club in Boston) last night before they close; can’t hear now...
Oculus or Vive
I just rebuilt my 8 year old desktop computer and have come to realize that it can now support VR. I’m not sure if I should try the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive, though, as it sounds like they both have their pluses and minuses. Any recommendations?
Workplace Productivity
Wow, I feel like I’ve been really productive today; I wonder what’s different. ...oh, I forgot to open Outlook.
Cat’s not a fan of me doing homework.
We tried hiking Mt Lafayette again for 她的 birthday, but weren’t expecting so much snow. It was so beautiful! Sadly due to the fact I was sick we only made it 3/4 of the way up (ie to the hut) before turning back, but the trip down was it’s own reward. Happy Birthday 老公!!
SQUEEZE your left glute! SQUEEZE IT TIGHT!!
...not with your hand 😒
Gymnastics Class Instructor
Almost sent an email to everyone I work with with “WTF” as the subject line; it’s suppose to be “WFH”, as I’m working from home today (and apparently need more sleep).
Video Games as an Adult
Saw Tomb Raider with some friends tonight. For a video game-based movie, it was pretty decent. Sure, the fanboys will complain about anything that doesn’t match the game storyline 100%, but it was still engaging and the main actor was very talented. Makes me wish I had more free time to relax with a game (and that Tomb Raider for PS4 didn’t eat my save file when I tried to play it oh-so-many years ago).
In related news, I picked up the Shadow of Colosus remake. Brought back memories of watching my brother play it. I’m thankful it’s a short game too; I might even have a chance of finishing it within a few months.
Gym Progress in 10 Words
I used to have three abs; now I have five.
Me: With enough time and motivation, you can do anything!
Reality: Can you buy a house?
Me: Well, I guess you need money for that.
Reality: Can you get a good job?
Me: Hmm, an education could help (or maybe sweat-talking)
Reality: How about getting a hot body?
Me: Genes, or steroids if you don’t care about your life expectancy
Reality: Meaningful friendships?
Me: Oh come on, anyone can make friends (although I guess having great social skills certainly doesn’t hurt)
Reality: And what about...
Me: Will you stop it already?!
I have not heard a single soul speak about the Super Bowl today at work, not even the sports-fanatic intern. It’s a little sad, actually, especially considering it was the main topic of conversation last week.
Improve
Instead of wishing your partner was more x or less y, why not focus on improving yourself. If they’re inspired, great; if not, you still end up better off. And besides, focusing on their deficiencies is no way to strengthen a relationship; you have enough of your own to keep you busy anyways.
