Thinking about Shidou's last words... I actually wonder if we got the timeline wrong.

I've seen most people (myself included) assume that Amane started her new religion first, then had Fuuta join, then stabbed Shidou. But actually I wonder if it's the reverse.

Fuuta joined Amane-ism because it offered him forgiveness. However, the original cult didn't really mention much about forgiveness or people having the chance to change. Also, looking at the T3 video, Amane is wearing her T2 outfit, not her T3 outfit. She is still a follower of the original cult.

So I wonder if Shidou's last words are what inspired Amane to start Amane-ism. His words of "it's never too late to change" are more in line with Amane-ism than the old cult.

And that would also explain why Fuuta didn't really do anything when Amane stabbed Shidou. He wasn't a follower then. Plus the fact that he joined the cult AFTER Amane killed another person adds a whole new level to his desperation and devotion to Amane.

#this is what i was thinking!#however #her old cult did seem to place emphasis on forgiveness #her t1 mv talks a lot about forgiveness #and in her t1 interrogation questions she says smth about seeing love as being willing to forgive someone over and over #and that she felt she was very loved by her family #or forgiveness was just a thing within her family and not the overall cult idk #amane momose #milgram
