dragon age origins fishing minigame is a cute little one-time interaction with a fisherman at lake calenhad where if you have enough cunning u can catch some kind of fucked up lake monster which comes with a little codex entry elaborating on the rumours about lake calenhad & the circle tower
dragon age 2 fishing minigame is non-existent they just make a joke about how gross kirkwall harbour fish would be to cover up that they didn’t have time to make it. in the files there’s some crazy list of creatures you would have fished out of there and some cut codex entries you would have found with super relevant gallows lore that is now just not in the game and people discourse about whether it’s canon
dragon age inquisition fishing minigame was created when the devs took people's complaints about no fishing minigame in da2 way too seriously and battled with the game engine to make an extremely awkward, unrewarding, and time-consuming system available in like almost every map. people still do it because sitting there and fishing for half an hour is one of the only reliable ways to trigger party banter. some of the mosaics can only be found by fishing
dragon age the veilguard fishing minigame also never made it into the game, despite the fact that the concept art book has like a kind of bizarre amount of work on what all the fish would look like, because the mechanics were planned for when the home base was a submarine and then became unusable. some of the concept fish became in-game models which serve exclusively to provide jokes about cooking

AN: hi friends! been a while!!
i feel like i don't have much to say about episode 05 other than i am extremely proud and exhausted. i did not plan on writing this much and to take this long but hey-ho, we are finally here!
i think this is the heaviest chapter so far when it comes to crew interaction which i am excited about. there are many chances to gain friendship points as well as them actually counting towards variations and scenes towards the end. but, of course there's always the option to not get along with the crew too...
very excited for how that's going to play out in the future. we're getting there, slowly but surely, let the mc downfall begin.

i think the reason the sith in swtor are so compelling to me as a setting and as characters is because like. they’re at the top. they’re in chains. they have all the freedom and none of it. nothing controls them but they don’t have choices.
playing light side inquisitor and warrior shows you that when you choose peace, the jedi force you to fight.
the foundry flashpoint shows you that your empire, your species, can exist only as long as you fight the republic (and you’ve been driven back and defeated already, you’ve lost homeworlds before)
you can be as evil as you want, and being cruel and vicious and violent is the only path to survival and anything else gets you hunted down. so can you really be as evil as you want? is it wanting if it’s the only thing left to you?
you follow a code that talks about granting freedom and breaking your chains but the sith order and the empire only chain people, trap them, leave them with only one role to play
you can’t not be sith: if you can touch the force, only korriban awaits, there is no turning away, there is no other order, there is no choice
they’re just so full of contradiction and suffering and anger and fear and pain and they have all the choices in the world and yet none at all, and it’s an entire empire, not everyone is evil, and the good people are going to get chewed up, or they’ll learn… not to be good and GOD it’s just like a playground for OCs and making them suffer and scream
After looking at some of the chibi drawings for reference, I saw a small detail I thought was funny
When I first saw this drawing I thought Ren was annoyed to be included in Jabberwock's shenanigans again
But the closer I looked I realized that Ren wasn't actually annoyed-
(he kinda is tho)
If you look close enough, Ren is the only one supporting Haru's leg, meanwhile Towa isn't supporting Haru's leg at all
So Ren is basically the only one keeping Haru stable, and by the looks of his petrified expression, Haru might've almost fallen
Also if you look at Haru's shoes, you can see that on Towa's side his foot is not stable at all ;-;
So the reason Ren looks like that is because he has almost all of Haru's weight on his knee cap, while also having to be the one to make sure Haru doesn't tip over-
If anything I feel bad for Ren's knee 😔
Also I love the little detail of peakaboo copying Haru's pose ><
