So. S'th' news Doc/s? Anythin' 'f interest goin' on in yer neck 'f th' woods?
Aster has to blink for a moment. He thought his son was at a meeting with the director of NASA today… Strange.
Doctor Fontaine, startled by the sudden intrusion, immediately summons and readies a blaster. “That’s not Sans, he wouldn’t just walk in here knowing I am here.” Doctor Fontaine growls at the intruding copy of Sans.
“Easy, Viktor. Give him the benefit of the doubt.” He turns to this new one, albeit nervously. He thought the lab was quarantined while they worked on the Rift Door. He supposes not, now. “Uh… Nothing interesting yet… Except for you, er.. Sans?”

Aster smiles and pours Silver’s drink politely, stirring two cubes of sugar into the teacup for him. His smile becomes a bit cheeky. His Sans always takes Earl Grey with four sugar cubes. He wonders if perhaps it has something to do with the burst of energy he needs, because it’s clear that Silver is plenty energetic for a coded Sans.
Passing off the teacup, he answers cheerfully. “Similar enough on a first glance that Viktor hesitated with his blaster. Had you been much shorter or taller or not wearing what you are, he may have fired.” And enough to startle poor Madlayne. She really wants what is best for their Sans, and this NASA meeting was very important to both of them. “I think the curious shimmer of gold in your eyes gave it away at first though, then your stunted height. I know when a Sans has had a rough start most times just by their traits. I am sorry that whatever it was, a version of myself did not aid you well enough.”
The corner of Aster’s mouth turns down just a bit before he takes a sip of his cup.
He takes a sip of the tea with a soft sigh of satisfaction.Even if it’s not what or how he normally takes it, it’s hot and wet and contains at least some sweetness. It will suffice. Listening to the Doctors’ explanation he gives a soft little chuckle though. “Wouldn’t have helped him ‘f he had tibia-nest, even with his blasters.. he can’t kill me. Not now.” Never again. He had no reason to be scared or nervy of those who would strike first and ask questions later now. This male though. This Gaster. He was.. different to a lot of them he’d met recently. A pleasant surprise. Different to his own as well, more congenial. More.. friendly? Yeah. That was definitely the word. A true monster in the definition he’d grown used to having to explain them as. Still, the final statement and the down turned mouth was enough to have him shake his head quickly. “Tch.. you Gasters.. always s’eager ter blame yerselves ‘r yer counterparts… My Doc had nothin’ ter do with m’height. Hell.. I didn’t even meet ‘im till I was like .. 9 ‘r so? Heh… s’just bad luck m’parents died short-ly after m’bro was born… promised mom I’d keep ‘im safe ‘nd help ‘im grow tall… welp… two kids on th’ run… s’hard ter find enough food ‘nd magic ter help one kid grow.. ‘nd I couldn’t break a promise now could I?” A careless little shrug accompanied his words as he took another sip of the tea and leant backwards casually. “Hell.. without the Doc… ‘m pretty sure we woulda both ended up starvin’ ‘r jus’ submittin’ ter th’ elements event’ly. He’s th’ one that gave me a chance.. gave me a job ‘nd helped me ter pay fer a house fer Paps ‘nd me ter stay in. Wouldn’ta stood a chance w’out him y’know? So spare yerself yer sorrow… m’Doc weren’t th’ villain in m’story. He was one ‘f th’ good guys.” Quick story told he stretches lightly, looking the other over more intently. “how about you tho’? ‘m guessin’ yer th’ good guy in yer Sanses story. S’th’ rest of it tho’?”
"Nine years old, hm? That is quite an unusual circumstance, in my studies of the Multiverse."
He pauses and eyes the Sans tensely for a small moment. What does Silver want from him exactly? He can sense that he is much, much stronger than his son, if only going by his natural sense for LV. This is... Interesting.
He better answer Silver before this turns into a confrontation. He doesn't want another Sans's blood on his hands... "I tried to be a good influence on my son. Both of them, truly. We had... A rough beginning, as many Gasters seem to have with their skeletal counterparts."
Hopefully that will suffice. He would rather not his misdeeds come to light if at all possible. Taking a sip of his tea, he waits for Silver's inevitable response...

“Let’s make like trees and leaf, Silver,” Aster chuckles. He leads the little Sans down to a lift and to the second floor all the way to an office with a nice wooden door and a name plate.
He allows Silver to step in first. The office is cozy, fitted with beautiful rustic wood floor and a warm aesthetic akin to the cabin in Snowdin.
“Please, sit down won’t you?” He pulls out his phone and texts someone, shutting the door behind him. “So, I should like to start at the simple things… How did you manage to find this Universe?”
Aster pockets his phone and leans against his desk while he focuses on Silver, looking him over carefully. He looks like he’d be more fragile, but he gets the sense that there’s much more to this version of his son than meets the eyes.
Silver follows the other easily enough, glancing around curiously as they walk. Taking note of their path and the walls as if memorising it in case he needs to get out in a hurry. White and gold pinpricks flicker steadily, half circles of light within the dark sockets. “huh. Quite a place yer got here Doc.” The music is enough to put him a little more at ease, although the cabin setting seems to have him a little on edge for some reason. He does however take a seat at the good Doctor’s bidding, hands shifting to rest on his legs, finally out from his hoodie pockets. “How’d I find it? Hmm.. there was a locked door in th’ Void. Never seen it before ‘nd welp.. I like a challenge. So I kinda.. y’know.. had ter see what was behind it.. thankfully..” A soft little snicker accompanies his next words. “I’ve always got m’trust skeleton key w’me so.. didn’t tek me long.” If he’s at all on guard from being looked at like that, he doesn’t show it at all, rather he returns the favour, pinpricks changing to a brighter white as he studies the Doctor intently for a moment, before the softer gold light returns again. “Easy one that. Anythin’ else?”
He smiles a little. Ingenious little man. “Why were you in the Void in the first place? Surely you know that the Void Matter is destructive, and to a coded Sans is extremely dangerous. Most don’t survive long near this rift door.”
This is just curiouser and curiouser. Silver seems fine with him, but why does the office seem to make him slightly uneasy? He wonders if perhaps his coded Gaster was abusive to him. Something must have happened to stunt his growth so severely. Even his Sans has at least three inches on him. He is prepared to offer asylum to this one should the need arise.
“s’like my second home. ‘m often in th’ Void. S’better ‘n bein’ out there alone sometimes pft.” He gives a little shrug, “I mean.. it can be destructive but.. welp.. s’can humans ‘nd monsters ‘nd all manner ‘f things when yer stop ter look at it right? At least in th’ Void yer know what yer dealin’ with. heh… There’s nothin’ there that either my blasters ‘r my reflexes won’t allow me ter survive anyways.” He gives the other a warmer smile. He’s a lot gentler than the Gaster he originally knew but he can see certain similiarities, enough to keep him contentedly answering questions for now. “so.. did yer mean it about th’ tea? I gotta know.”
As if on queue, the door swings open to a woman who looks rather Human… but with brown birth marks and fuzzy round ears on her head. Like a panda. She is carrying a tray of tea service. She pauses, her Kindness-green eyes fixed on Silver. She balances the set in one hand to sign in surprise. *Sans, what are you doing, I thought you were in California talking with NASA?
“This isn’t our Sans, Madlayne. This is one from another Universe.” Aster smiles to silver. “Silver, meet my partner and confidante, Madlayne. Madlayne, this is Silver. We were just sitting down to talk about his arrival. Thank you for bringing our tea.”
*Uh, no problem.
Madlayne sets the service down on the desk stiffly and walks off, her peplum vest flouncing behind her a bit.
Aster chuckles. “Well that gave her a start didn’t it? How would you like your tea? Looks like today we’ve an Earl Grey.”
He can’t help but stare a little at the odd.. humanoid? Human? Monster? Hybrid? Can’t quite tell. It’s amazing to see though. Even more amusing to him that she also immediately thinks of him as ‘their’ Sans. Still, he offers a gentle grin, a hand lifting up in a slow easy wave when he’s introduced. “Madlayne huh? Pleasure. Ta muchly.” He grins at Aster’s amusement, pinpricks flickering a little faster for a moment, sharing in the joke. “Hm? Earl Grey huh? Two sugars ‘nd black then. Ain’t need milk in tea like that.” A thoughtful expression crosses his face as he waits for Aster to pour the drinks. Figuring it’d probably be best to let him play ‘Mother’ so to speak. “does your Sans really look -that- similar ter me then?”
Aster smiles and pours Silver's drink politely, stirring two cubes of sugar into the teacup for him. His smile becomes a bit cheeky. His Sans always takes Earl Grey with four sugar cubes. Oh. Aster likes this Sans a lot. He grins, showing off the gap in his tooth and gleeful blushing dusting his freckled cheeks. “It doesn’t hurt to check, I suppose.” He snorts and crosses his arms over his chest.
“Ugh. I am going to continue working on this rift if you two are going to keep at those awful puns. I would like to get home to my mate sometime this evening.” Doctor Fontaine grumbles.
“The rift can wait another day if you want to go home, Viktor. I think she’ll be happy to see you home earlier for a change.” Aster pats his counterpart on the back and contains everything before opening the door. “Would you like some tea, Silver? We can chat in my office for a while where it’s much more comfortable.”
This slightly smaller, but just as sassy version of Sans, is certainly piquing his interest. He wants to know everything about this one that he can… Especially because he was able to breach the dimensional seal they had on that particular room. Even his Sans can’t do that.
Silver has a tendency to slip past seals at the best of times. He has no regard for fourth walls or dimensions other than a potential challenge. Viktor’s disdain for his humour only has him snicker softly, “Aww someone hurt yer punny bone man? ‘r just got no sans ‘f humerus? Welp.. either way… don’t let me mek this a check -mate-.” He grins wide, glancing at the door Aster opened and nodding easily to the question “How did yer know I was startin’ ter feel kinda… thirs-tea?” A soft little laugh at his own joke as he decides to make his way towards said open door, hands shoved deep into his hoodie pockets.

Not like he’d planned on just waltzing in here. But it wasn’t like he he had planned on -not- just walking in here either. Still the blaster gains his attention rather rapidly. Pinpricks flickering rapidly, white and gold quarter circles of glowing light that he fixes on the creature, clicking softly, curious to see if they’ll respond back to his talk, before turning to the Doctors with a little grin. “I mean.. y’can call me Sans ‘f yer wish.. aint’ many do that nowadays tho’. Most folks call me Silver. Heh.. s’a long story tho’.. doubt either ‘f yer’d find it interestin’.” Another look at the blaster though, although he doesn’t seem particularly threatened by it. “S’not a bad specimen fer a blaster but.. y’know… ‘f yer put a soul in ‘em they’re much more powerful…” Doesn’t seem like he’s going to give away how he got in here..or even why. Probably just a wrong turn on one of his shortcuts..but he can hardly tell a Gaster that… no way is he losing face in front of one of the Doctors themselves. Much better to just be a mystery.
Doctor Fontaine blinks and shakes his head in confusion. Is a *sans* critiquing his panic??
Aster on the other hand relaxes and smiles at this newcomer. Not every day that a sans finds his way to him. Usually it’s the other way around. But it’s entertaining that he would attempt to critique Viktor’s blaster… In another life he may have obliterated a sans for that. Strange how things have come along with his counterpart. “Well… Welcome to our labs, Silver. You may call me Aster if you like. This is Viktor.”
“You will address me as “Doctor Fontaine,” the red-eyed Lich hisses, recalling his blaster but being on guard.
“Be nice, Viktor,” Aster scolds. “He could he exhausted from mis-stepping in the Void.” He looks Silver over carefully. “Are you injured?”
He sure is Fontaine. He sure is. He chuckles softly, at the opposite reactions to his presence, but there’s still no attempt to either attack or defend himself. Not yet. “s’been a while since ‘ve seen an actual lab ‘sides m’own ‘f course, but y’know.. s’not the same.. I mean… s’kinda hard ter know when yer messin’ up when yer a staff ‘f one right?” His grin only grows at the introductions. “S’Viktor ‘nd Dr Aster. Gorrit.” A casual look at Viktor, and then at Aster, assessing both in terms of level of threat and protection. Aster seems to be the one in charge though, so Aster is the one who gets the smaller monsters decent amount of attention. “I mean.. s’kind of yer ter worry Doc but..’m pretty good at.. heh heh. a-void-ing injuries fer th’ most part.”
Oh. Aster likes this Sans a lot. He grins, showing off the gap in his tooth and gleeful blushing dusting his freckled cheeks. "It doesn't hurt to check, I suppose." He snorts and crosses his arms over his chest.

@sweet-serpent-mindy:
Mindy listens intently and smiles while Aster speaks, her soft voice chiming in only when he’s finished, “I don’t know about a career in Astronomy, but I do like studying it. I don’t think a person of my size would be able to move around much, especially with my tail.”
Her fingers absently stroke along the start of her tail, feeling the smooth scales there.
“I would like to see the Astro- Aeronautical Division, though.”
“Your tail would not be a problem at all, dear. We have many Monsters who work here and have tails as long as yours. We are able to accommodate anyone rather easily. We look primarily for technical and personal skill,” He insists, guiding Mindy to the elevators to the ground floor.
The floor halls are decorated with photos of the prototypes that the scientists here have helped NASA and Boeing design. Mindy could hear the faint sound of metal cutting, machines whirring, and a low roar that sounds like a distant jet engine starting up.
“All of the ground floor of this facility is our Astro-Aeronautical Division. On one end is our designing, which is off-limits to view to the public. The other half is fabrication and testing. Testing is mostly restricted for safety reasons, but we do have a viewing window for the wind tunnel to test for aerodynamic capabilities. Would you care to see that?”
She speaks politely, “While your offer is nice and all, I’ll still have to decline.”
Mindy taps the tips of her fingers together absently in the elevator. With how long her tail is, it might’ve been a little cramped for the other.
She looks at all the photos in silent awe, her mouth formed into a little “o” shape. Mindy looks at Aster when he speaks again.
“I’d love to see that,” she smiles, “thank you.”
Aster leads Mindy in the direction of the wind tunnel, and into the observation room. Through the window she can see a massive capsule clearly meant to house astronauts on top of a rocket. The design is much more smooth looking than those she may have seen being shot off into space on TV. There are windows in front of the cockpit, made with tinted black glass.
Aster presses a button, a few buttons, and turns a dial. The engine of the fan begins to rev up, and it spits out a stream of blue smoke to show the movement of the air. It swirls around where the glass meets the metal, until Aster presses a button and a smooth shield shuts over the glass, completely hiding the glass in a streamlined sheet. "This capsule is a prototype going on a drivable shuttle we designed! Once up in space, the capsule becomes a cockpit for the astronauts to fly manually, much like a plane. This is our fastest model thus far. We still have 3 more prototypes to test before we get the grant from NASA!"
He turns the dial higher, the airspeeds increasing quickly. The stabilizers on the top and sides of the capsule begin to wobble and he shuts the process down before the final come off. "It's er... Still a work in progress. We've never worked in such a large scale to account for wind resistance."

"Luna I am so sorry for how brash Viktor was being to you. That was uncalled for. We all forget things now and again. It's alright. Please forgive him for that lapse in politeness." Aster side-eyes his counterpart, whose back is turned away while working on his laptop.
! 'Hey boys, what do you think of me?'
Aster grins, his cheeks puffy and purple from how happy he looks with the Ask. “I think you are handsome--nay, beautiful, and intelligent. You are always wonderful to speak with, and though some of your previous encounters with others have frightened me, I know you can still care for yourself.”
“Aster, you’re going to give someone a diabetic coma with your words,” Viktor drawls sarcastically. “We all know just how much you like him.” He leans in with his own devious grin. “I can honestly say that you are a good friend to us... it has its... benefits.”
