Thinking(TM) about Tsubasa and Ryuga (Headcannon)
I know i am talking out my ass right now. It is 3 am, the crows are out., but what I really find interesting about the Ryuga/Tsubasa dynamic is that the implications that canon brings for these two is just so...SO....
Tsubasa can't stand the fact that Ryuga is someone who only seeks to fight and to win relentlessly, yet Ryuga is not only the only person to "infect" Tsubasa with the dark power, but was also the first to say that the dark power is something that he can conquer and something that he shouldn't allow to rule over him (like how he managed to tame L drago's dark power).
Now, I can interpret this as a means to an end to Ryuga. Of course he doesn’t want someone going rogue on his opponents (especially during the night before the match). BUT I would like to differ.
See, Ryuga is a person that cares somewhat. He may not show it and he will mask it as something else, but he cares.
So to have Tsubasa be confronted with the truth of the dark power straight from the source should be telling. Ryuga cant just give out such sensitive info like that to his opponent, right? WRONG.
Deep down, he cares somewhat. He cares enough to warn Tsubasa about it, because he went through it and knew how badly it affected him. As seen in the tail end of the metal fight series, we see Ryuga completely unable to control his own will while under the dark power, and he who had infected Tsubasa with it cares enough to warn him and tell him about it. He cares.
Also that one scene where tsubasa faints in front of the gang in metal masters, and Ryuga just conveniently shows up??? Like sir hello??? Have you been following tsubasa this entire time??? Night to morning??? You not beating the sussy baka allegations here big man </3
But regardless, they would be a duo that, had their circumstances not have lead them to be on opposing sides, would understand eachother and respect eachother as bladers (and more)
They both hate eachother ofc but then again, the two have a very special and mutual understanding of eachother through the means of knowing eachother's worst attributes, their worst moments. It’s a silent bond built on the foundation that the two share the same dark, sadistic desires to win, and the inherent want to chase the concept of power.
