"Oh, for fucks sake," Zuri shrieked out once the car passed, now soaked from head to toe, though she quickly pulled her backpack off to see if any water had managed to get inside. "Please be okay," she muttered, trying to ignore the gust of cold air that swept past and caused a slight shiver. "This isn't happening."

Catching the other's gaze on her, Birdie lets out a small scoff, picking up one of the several shots she had lined up for herself. "How about we play a little game?" She mused to the other, holding out towards the shot to the other. "It's called you pretend you don't recognise me and I buy your drinks for the rest of the night. Sound good?" Picking up a second shot, she tilted her head back, draining it in one with a smile.
umber lets out an exaggerated sigh, their shoulders dropping in resignation. “i have come to terms with the fact that i will be alone for the rest of my life.” they turn to the other and force a smile, “see? i’ve come to terms, smile on my face. everything is fine.”

Laurie was used to people staring at him, given his family upbringing, and then his choice in career. Lately, the looks felt different, half of them more judgemental. Feeling yet another person's gaze on him, he sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose before turning towards them. "If you've got something to say, say it."

"I'm busy," He muttered, shoving his phone in his pocket before he took another drag of his cigarette, not daring to look at the other.
