Mordred Hood

(RP/Ask Blog for Mordred Hood of the Sonic Archie Comics! Note that this blog takes place BEFORE the events of "Worlds Collide", purely due to the fact that Mordred has not shown up (but has been mentioned) after the Crossover, so it's easier for me to RP him as he was before since I actually know what happened with him beforehand. (Ahh crap. Crap. I keep leaving this blog and coming back and then leaving again. I get really excited to come back to this blog but then I fall flat. I'm not having any sick feelings about it but I just lose motivation to do anything with this blog...And I'm pretty sure I lost the passwords to my other Sonic blogs.

I think what I might do is just make a new blog for Mordred; maybe it's the fact that I'm returning to an old blog that's tripping me up. Which isn't to say that I'll reboot him, but maybe moving him to a different blog would kick me into gear.

I'm thinking of maybe updating him to meet the new comic canon, while leaving his past interactions intact (I'll only remove certain interactions if it clashes with the new canon/didn't leave a big impact on him). What do you guys think? Should I just move to a new blog or should I update him to the new comic canon?

...I also might make an RP blog for one of the new comic canon characters. Maybe Honey or Nack, I dunno. I'm liking the new comic so it's kicking me back into gear with Sonic related stuff.)

(Once again I prove to be awful at not leaving this blog to collect dust for a few months.

Anyway, I had a genuine reason for leaving Mordy here without activity for so long.

Ever since I started taking long hiatuses, I started to feel unwelcome in the Sonic RP community; now, it's not because of anything anyone said or did that I felt that way. My best guess is that my anxiety got the better of me, and as a result I panicked.

Second, for a long while I couldn't get onto this account without feeling sick with panic for the same reason as listed above, so up until now I've only been peeking in every few weeks. For those of you who I've left with open threads, I apologize for making you wait so long.

I'm pretty active on my other RP blogs, just not this one; and part of the reason was because I had gotten sucked into other fandom shenanigans.

I can't make any promises that I'll stay around on this account, but I figured I may as well explain (again) why I keep on disappearing. Again, I apologize to those of you who are awaiting replies from me. If you want to continue those threads then we can, but if not then I completely understand.)

(Okay guys here're the reasons why I've been inactive on my Sonic RP accounts:

1) Megaman. I got sucked in and it's the first franchise that I've loved just as much as Sonic, and as such I've been more absorbed into it lately than I've been in Sonic. Hence why I've been over on my Megaman blogs rather than on here.

2) I'm still not too sure about this, but I think things on here have been getting a bit rusty; as in, a fresh start would be lovely. Not rebooting Mordred or anything, but perhaps making a new blog and continuing things there. I'm still not sure, but a fresh start in general might get my Sonic muses back better if I'm seen as a new face. IDK.

But!! I'll never stop loving the Sonic franchise, and I don't think I'll ever completely leave my Sonic blogs, either. I just figured I owed you guys an explanation of why I'll leave for months at a time. I might pick up a few more Sonic muses down the line so I can get myself more pumped up about it.)

When Mordred came forward, Razor took a step back. His grip on the dagger tightened for a split second, but he relaxed himself and let his hand fall to his side.

He couldn’t help but feel slightly intimidated by Mordred, and averted his gaze to his surroundings.

"Mercia?" The name was as foreign as the land itself. "Wait. Your castle? Lord?? You rule the Surface-Walkers in this area?”

Razor felt a sense of awe and confusion. He’d dealt with royalty before, and Mordred certainly didn’t look the part. Something wasn’t right. His head was already spinning, but he remembered that he’d been asked a question and had thus far only responded with questions of his own.

"I’m from the South Ocean… I’m the protector of The Eusebes Shrine."

Mordred's grin twitched upward a slight bit more at seeing Razor take a step back. He suppressed his enjoyment of that action, instead listening to Razor.

So, he knew them as Surface-Walkers? Interesting. "Yes, I do. I have most-- if not all-- control over Mercia."

The shark seemed just as lost as he was out of place. Mordred was curious as to if he could actually do anything differently from land-dwelling Mobians but aside from being able to live underwater he had little clue. Ah, well, he was invested in learning more about Razor regardless.

"You're quite far from home, aren't you?" Mordred commented. He had never heard of the Eusebes Shrine. "Care to tell me what that shrine of yours is? I've never heard of it before."

Razor tensed; he’d never seen a Mobian quite like Mordred before. His eyes fixated on the serpents intricate armor, and he impulsively moved his hand towards his dagger, fingers lightly grasping the handle, but decided against unsheathing it. 

After all, he knew so little about the land-dwelling Mobians - and the snake was smiling. Sort of. That’s pretty much a universally friendly gesture, right? 

"The name’s Razor… And this is Crusher." he said, looking down at the chao clinging to his leg.

Crusher was glaring at Mordred, but for once dared not move from Razor’s side.

Razor turned his gaze back onto Mordred, locking eyes with him. “And you are…? What exactly is this place?”

He had a dagger with him. How cute. Mordred tilted his head, taking in the details of the other Mobian, clearly interested in getting to know more about him. He only glanced briefly at the chao.

Standing up, he walked forward a few feet, but still kept his distance from Razor. "My name is Lord Mordred Hood; you're in Mercia, in my castle." He met Razor's gaze. "Where do you come from? I haven't seen a Mobian like you before."

He certainly wasn't meant to be on land, that was for sure. The serpent wondered how Razor had even gotten this far out of the water in the first place, but he awaited an answer from the other.

That just caused the duck to grit his teeth again as Mordred continued, grunting and cringing as he continued refusing to scream. 

He didn’t speak again for a while longer, not wanting to get caught mid sentence and end up screaming anyway. Another part of the reason for his silence was because he was trying to gather his thoughts, not wanting to think too much about Mordred’s question despite the horrifying thoughts it had already caused him. No, he wasn’t getting his family dragged into this. He had to put up an act and pretend that they didn’t exist, that things in his life were the same as they were when he first found himself here. He took in a sharp pained breath when the tool was suddenly yanked out of his arm. He then let out an eerie chuckle, as if Mordred’s threats were pointless.

"Ones I love…? I’m a mercenary. Not sure if ya know how those work, but we don’t have loved ones. If we gave away our trust that easily, we’d end up gettin’ betrayed…Now I’m sure you’ll bring up that one friend I mentioned last time, yeah? Well. That’s it. Just one friend. I haven’t even found him since I was last here…But things haven’t changed much since last time. I know ya wouldn’t be able to catch him still…Heh…heck, even if ya tried, you’d be stuck with broken cybernetics. Pretty sure Eggy wouldn’t be happy about that."

Mordred grit his teeth slightly as Bean still continued to resist screaming; the fact that he wasn't was testing Mordred's patience. It almost made him stab the duck again, but he held back.

Once Bean began to speak, Mordred sneered.

If the boy wanted to try and deny that, fine. While Mordred didn't think that Bean actually had many friends, he decided to go on with it anyway.

"Don't lie to me, boy." He hissed. "You're stupid enough to make that mistake of trusting people, and besides..."

The legionnaire came back with the metal rod-- the end of it was glowing bright red, having been heated up to very high temperatures. Without looking away from Bean, Mordred grabbed it, pressing the hot end into Bean's open wound.

Leaning in, he smirked, very slowly digging it in. "...I have all day to talk to you about it."

"...Interesting." Mordred leaned back in his throne idly tapping one of the arms of it. "I don't think I've ever seen a Mobian like you before." A small grin came to his lips. "Who are you?"

"Pity you’re holding back, Mordred. You have the weapons and the means to torch that entire forest, and you’re hesitating? But I’m not mad you for making some progress…although I believe an incentive is needed for you.

…Minion forty three, would you please come in here? I need an example.” The doctor said over his intercom - a Legionnaire entering the bridge of his Death Egg shortly thereafter.

"Minion forty three reporting. An example of what, Doctor Egg—AAAAAAAUGH!"

"See that Mordred? That will be you and your Legion if you don’t succeed in finding them. Progress is progress, but if you continue to take it slow here, you’ll finally catch them when that king of theirs has reached old age."

Mordred didn't wince when the Legionnaire was killed, but he did wince afterwards at the threat. A shiver went down his spine as he nodded.

"...Yes, sir." He said, voice somewhat quiet. "I have the means to destroy the forest, yes, but you can't honestly expect me to risk destroying my own castle in the process. I'll go faster, I assure you. But unless I want to torch my own forces by letting the fires get too out of control, I can only do so much at once...Surely you understand." At least he hoped that the other would understand.

(Hey guys, sorry for not being online. It's the end of the school year and I have finals coming up next week, but after that (and an extra school day), I'll be out for summer and thus will be ready for replies.

Again, I apologize for going offline for a while! I'm mostly on my Megaman RP blogs, but I will be lacking in activity on them for about a week or so until finals/school is over.)

"Whatever ya say…I still say you’re bored. Spendin’ all this time wantin’ ‘revenge’ on me just cause I managed to run away from ya. I mean…really? Plotting revenge just cause of that? I’m sure there’s bigger threats to ya out there other than a run-away duck like me…Eh…Imma take a wild guess that you’d fail at catchin’ those threats. So ya settled for me. Cause you’re bored." Bean rambled on casually, if only because his talking always seemed to annoy his enemies.

When Mordred approached him, his eyes moved over to the tool in his hand. As it was raised, his hands clenched into fists as he braced himself. He still wished that this was just one of his nightmares and that he’d wake up as soon as the tool was brought down. No such luck.

"Hn—!!" he grit his teeth, refusing to scream before Mordred even ordered him to. At the order, he just glared at the snake. That little order of his only helped fuel Bean’s stubbornness. A small grin of his own appeared as he was once again mocking Mordred straight in his face.

"Ya didn’t say ‘pretty please’."

To say that Mordred was getting irritated with Bean would be a bit of an understatement. Oh, how he hated how the duck was mocking him. He didn't take kindly to being mocked. This in turn fueled Mordred even more to break the duck.

The lack of a scream agitated him, shown by how he started to frown. Bean's comment caused him to growl, and he twisted the tool again, dragging it down a little.

He got an idea, then, the grin returning as he let go of the tool, leaving it embedded in Bean's arm. "You know, I've always wondered how you would react to seeing the ones you love tortured. Would you rather I bring them here and show you what I'd do to them?"

As he spoke, the snake took a metal rod, handing it to a legionnaire that was standing in the room. The legionnaire took it, leaving for a few minutes. While he waited for his subordinate to return, he looked back at Bean, waiting for a reaction to what the snake had said, while at the same time abruptly yanking the tool out of the duck's arm.

A message notice came in on the monitor, showing a request to open up a video message channel. The origin of the request was Downunda but if the request was accepted, it may come as a surprise that the one on the screen was a snow rabbit instead of a platypus.

Given that the message request came from a familiar area where a Grandmaster was, Mordred opened it. He did indeed expect to find a platypus standing there on the screen, but instead, a rabbit came up.

Narrowing his eyes and lowering his eyelids a little, Mordred scowled.

"What do you want?"

Bean narrowed his eyes at the snake when he tightened his grip. Alright, maybe he wouldn’t be getting away that easily. He was never that lucky, honestly. But then he just grinned. Courage trip? Oh, last time would be nothing compared to the ‘courage trip’ he’d take now. Maybe he wouldn’t taunt Mordred this time, he was in no position to do that. But Chaos help him, he wouldn’t show any fear. Mordred wanted to have fun with that? Well too bad.

"Revenge? Over that little thing? Jeez, you must be very bored." Bean noted before watching Mordred move over and pull up the table with the tools. And just like that, the internal screaming was back. He instantly started thinking of what he could do. Use a bomb?? He couldn’t even throw it like this. Sure he could just let it go and let it roll down to the floor, but then it’d be right in front of him. Mordred could easily move away, while he couldn’t. A bomb would do him more harm than good right now, sadly. Even if he managed to hurt the snake even a little bit with one, it’d be of no help. He’d still be stuck to that table and he’d have to face an angry, slightly burned snake. It’d all just make things worse.

Seeing that grin, Bean just stubbornly narrowed his eyes again. He remembered Jet’s words again, about how creeps like this would just use his fear against him. How it’d be his downfall. The duck would especially not show his fear to Mordred. No, he’d do his best when it came to never showing the snake that he was actually the one person he feared most. He saw it all last time, Mordred was sadistic and he loved nothing more than to see someone fear him and cause people pain. Bean wouldn’t let the snake have his way, no, no. He’d make sure this was the most boring thing to happen to the sadistic snake.

So now Bean was making himself as stubborn as he could be with his own thoughts. And instead of showing fear, he just let out an amused huff. Looks like Jet would be wrong about another thing too. The physical pain he knew he’d experience would definitely be worse than the emotional pain of his fear. From the looks of those tools, this’d be much more than a simple ‘ow that hurts’. This was nothing to be happy about, of course. But hey, ignoring all that and just focusing on the fact that the hawk was wrong helped.

"So…guess this is the part of the dungeons ya failed to show me, huh? Now here I am. Tsk, talk about determination!"

"I am not "bored," I simply don't tolerate anyone who dares to oppose me." Mordred said, keeping eye contact with Bean. It seemed that Bean wanted to continue being defiant, not show any hint of fear. Mordred had dealt with others who had tried to do the same.

Just like Bean, he wasn't planning on giving in anytime soon. He'd break the duck, oh he'd break him. It would take effort on his part, but it would be worth it, he decided.

Listening to Bean talk on was irritating, but he continued to simply pick at the tool in his hands. He'd remain calm, if only for the sake of doing this torture correctly. He planned to have Bean stuck in here until he was broken, and he frankly didn't care how long it took. His anger had been able to stew for months now, making it much, much worse for Bean. Had he gotten a hold of the duck earlier, the experience wouldn't have been as painful as the snake planned to make it now.

However that wasn't the case, and now Mordred got to exact his revenge after waiting so patiently.

Once Bean got onto the topic of the dungeons, Mordred, without a word, moved forward-- raising the tool in his hand, something that was sharpened and caked in dry blood and perhaps some rust, before plunging it into the lower half of Bean's arm. He then twisted it for added effect, leaning in.

"Scream." He ordered, sharp teeth showing in a wide grin.

As Bean began to wake up, he at first thought he’d had one of his nightmares. One of those very, very creepy and realistic ones where everything felt real.

But upon opening his eyes, he unfortunately found that it was much worse than a nightmare. It was real. He didn’t wake up to find himself at home. And there was no looking around to ensure that he was safe. Looking around now would only bring him more fear-he really was in the dungeons.

Upon hearing that voice, he practically felt his blood freeze. He wanted to scream and he wanted to attempt getting away from the restraints even if it would be futile. But he didn’t. Ironically enough, he now thought of Jet, of all people. And not the things he already knew but was told by the hawk anyway. He knew not to break down in front of his enemies. Even more so, he knew not to show even the smallest bit of fear in front of this particular enemy. He remembered last time, how Mordred was amused by his fear. He wouldn’t let the snake have his fun again with that, no. So instead he thought about Jet and how he didn’t believe that he wouldn’t break down in front of his opponents. This wouldn’t prove the hawk wrong, of course, since he wasn’t here. Good thing too. Bean wouldn’t wish this kind of situation upon anyone. But thinking about that, it made him feel stubborn. And Bean needed that right now. He needed something to cling to and be as stubborn as he could about so it could distract him from his own fear. And almost nothing else made him feel more stubborn than Jet’s lack of faith in his ability to hide away negative emotions in front of an enemy.

When his head was lifted, Bean was practically screaming on the inside. But on the outside, he made the most apathetic expression he could manage. Right now the only indicator of his fear was his heart rate. He felt like his heart was up in his throat. But really, anyone would feel that way upon waking up to find themselves here.

"Pay for what I did? What might that be?? No offense, but I’ve done a looot of things. Especially months ago!" seems he decided to play stupid for now, hoping that maybe he could still trick Mordred into thinking he was an alternate.

Mordred didn't have a single doubt in his mind that this was the version of Bean he was looking for. Not that it really crossed his mind that it couldn't be, but what were the odds that a random alternate would pop into his castle unannounced?

"Pay for what I did? What might that be?? No offense, but I’ve done a looot of things. Especially months ago!"

"You know exactly what I'm talking about." Mordred hissed, leaning in closer. He tightened his grip painfully around Bean's chin. "All those months ago when he wound up within my castle...Destroyed parts of my dungeons, and escaped. Nobody escapes me. Especially not after that little courage trip of yours." He of course meant when Bean had taunted him. Having the duck escape his grasp had been bad enough, but the taunting he tolerated even less so.

"I will not waste time to exact my revenge on you." Mordred said, letting go of Bean to walk a few steps away-- only to pull over a table of tools that were obviously meant for torture. Looking at Bean with a grin and his eyelids lowered halfway, he picked up one of the tools and began to rub off some dried on blood. He waited for a reaction from Bean, anything to show him that the other was terrified.
