i talked about this on twitter but in 2020 i spent so long obsessing over the Road to Recovery track art and dissecting what laivan dropping serpaz’s rope meant exactly and was always angry i couldn’t figure it out (in a way that i personally liked). and a while back i realized how obvious it is that it’s just representing how he’s neglecting her and will continue to neglect her

i am extremely positive the majority of people have reached this conclusion way before me but it took me time partly because i was in a Laipaz Relationship for multiple years and refused to accept that the way laivan treated serpaz- which was reminiscent of how my ex was treating me- was neglect! i would even get genuinely mad when people said laipaz might (or even should) break up lmfao

but now it is soooo blatantly obvious to see. they got together so quickly they barely even knew each other before they bonded. their first interaction was laivan shooting her in the leg on accident. hurting her on accident. permanently injuring her on accident. most obvious foreshadowing for the future of their relationship ever created

he doesn’t MEAN to do this to her. but he’s tired. he’s tired of dealing with her toxic positivity. tired of dealing with her emotional negligence. tired of being reminded that he hurt her. so he spends time with arcjec instead. he seeks arcjec out, asks him for glue, just wants to Not Think about serpaz for even a bit

and i think this will continue to escalate more than it already has until he’s completely lost serpaz and neither of them even know it
