Missing them
Это фан-проект по созданию визуальной новеллы по игре "Pathologic"
The full English translation of the Pathologic Dating Sim is here! It has been such an honor and a pleasure to be a part of the English localization team ♥️ Thank you to @mattewkanada and the rest of the Russian developers for letting us work with them on this piece of art! So much heart and soul has gone into this project, and everyone should go play it now ♥️
I am so proud to have been a part of the English localization team!
The full game is now available in English on itch.io !
After a long game of subterfuge and a circuitous trip through the post, I can at long last share this gift that I made for @starsforscales !
The typeset is one I am particularly fond of. I used plates from Cloches de Noël et de Pâques, a compilation of art plates by Alphonse Mucha compiled by Emile Gebhart. The bookcloth reminded me of fur or cowhide, and made a nice juxtaposition with the leaf-patterned endpapers. It all felt right for a story about herb brides.
The fic, Death and the Dancer, was made as an incredibly generous gift to me, so I had to return the favor. I suggest you all go give it a read, of course ♥️
a rdr online commission i related to quite a bit for @serranodebergerac
hours spent looking for tarrot cards and getting jumped by cougars…
A major anthology project that I'm so proud of! Carving a rubber stamp is great fun ♥️
i have strong opinions on his doughy physique
Rescued a used copy of one of my all-time favorite books, trimmed the edges, and gave it a fresh cover!
My original plan was to make a very ornate design/border which I may still do later, but for now I like the way the simplicity draws you in. Made with duo Evening Red, because the queen Tanith Lee deserves it ♥️
Three hidden fore-edge paintings for the Elven Kings for three commissioned copies of Between Two Fires for author Christopher Buehlman!
The robin is a reference to the song Delphine sings while traveling through Paris, which her mother taught her. The angels presiding over the demon falling into a river needs no further explanation! And the stag and boar running through the autumn woods is a depiction of the hunting scene later in the book.
Another custom hidden fore-edge painting for a commissioned book! Love doing these.
A custom hidden fore-edge painting on a book commission ♥️
My most ambitious bookbinding project to date, a gift for author Christopher Buehlman for his incredible book Between Two Fires.
More info and process below the cut!
A quick blank journal I made at my mom's request 🦢
My first attempt doing an inset cover, I'm hooked!
Getting stoked for Pathologic 3: Quarantine to drop next week, so of course, I had to prepare for a themed play party with my friend!
I spent the day cleaning up/redrawing the shmowder, panacea, and twyrine labels from the Patho 2 assets and making some printable and foldable mockups! I hand-foiled the twyrine label myself, though it would work just as well painted gold or left as-is.
If anyone wants to make their own to join in the festivities on March 17th (Bachelor day!), I made an easily printable page! For the shmowder, just cut along the red lines and fold like a matchbox. Works especially well when printed on cardstock, but printer paper works fine!
My first serious book rehab project for my friend Beta! Her beat-up old copy of The Poisonwood Bible had, in her words, the "covers ripped off when I got it. This was left behind in my high school study hall and the teacher said if no one claimed it then I could have it."
I had to completely cut off the previous spine, since the original was perfect-bound and VERY tattered. I re-glued everything and reinforced the "new" spine with a literal strip of surgical bandage (my cheap alternative to buying bookbinding mull, which is just a wide-weave cloth anyway). It was so much fun to redesign this cover based on what I knew of the contents, and there was something so lovely about knowing I was giving a much-loved book new life! ✨
Bookbinding Level Up! 💫
Bind #4 was when I decided to invest in a foil quill and play around on this Secret Santa gift for @kinkmom! This is an anthology of all her Pathologic fics in a snug little tome, and my first foray into some slightly fancier typesetting. I'm so proud of the result!
