He pursed his lips in quiet CONTEMPLATION ( there wasn’t much fight in him, he wasn’t really looking for one ) and folded his arms beneath his serape. There was a discomfort in their exchange, but perhaps he was reading it WRONG to begin with. BOB used to look so colossal that it was still amusing to be just a few feet shorter than him now. Jesse remembered the first time meeting BOB, more or less meant to be a threat, and while the boy was wary about omnics—it didn’t deter his CURIOSITY.
Jesse shook his head, with a slow lift of his shoulders. “No not… lookin’ t’get in the way or nothin’…Mostly just…sight seein’.” ( He got sentimental sometimes too…on the days he could remember it. ) He had things to do, checking some of his old stashes around the gorge making sure the Deadlocks hadn’t taken anything too VALUABLE that he had been saving for some time. But he couldn’t help the detour.
And the GUILT that came with.
“How’s the lady…” ( you know the one ) Her name already felt awkward in his mouth, he could hear her now, CROONING voice so amused he’d spare a thought for her well being. “Bet she’s still pissed ‘bout the whole train thing…Sorry…by the way.” He didn’t know why he was apologizing really, but if ANYONE deserved it, Bob did.
Not just for the train.
Mostly the aftermath.
What she must have done to the rest of them after he walked away. What VENOM she must have spit with his name. “I can imagine it’s been rough, I mean maybe not for the rest of you—you all seem t'be doing great. Just…overall.”
What was it about that butler that made him SOFT? Maybe because it was him that gave him a place to crash at her behest, treated him much in the same way at one point. Protected him from the roughage of the WORLD, when he was less deserving of it. Jesse couldn’t say that he really missed the…ragtag as much as he wished the tension wasn’t threads from snapping.
Bob soon spoke out, he stepped forward, feet dragging slowly across the floor as his jacket filled with who knows what, rattled with each step. Soon— he was much closer to McCree, perhaps only a foot apart. . . Enough to raise tension though, as he stared down at the man, optics flicking as the giant omnic kept his gaze focused on the cowboy— reading every movement he made.
There was a long moment of silence, only to soon be broken by the inner-workings of Bob starting to whir, as he made his next move. A hand rose && very slowly, he brought it to McCrees shoulder. . . ❝ Don’t apologize . . . ❞ He spoke out— though he sounded slightly disgruntled by the whole ordeal, his voice dripping with some form of frustration, Bob figured that Jesse had his reasons— everyone always does . . . Thats what kept the Omnic level headed during this exchange . . . for the most part.
He gave a tight squeeze . . . then let go.
❝ Ashe is . . . well she’s fine, lets keep it at that— though i’m pretty sure if she saw your face right now . . . we’d have an issue. ❞ He wasn’t going to go into details, especially after the train incident. Bob had counted the many time Ashe had berated him because of his failure— even to this day she still brings it up . . . it was irksome to say the least, especially having devoted his life to keeping her safe && content.
He felt a little— put out
But he digressed. soon letting out a heavy sigh, as shoulders dropped && he tried to relax him self. ❝ I don’t suppose you’d ever tell me how you’re doing . . . seeing how secretive you were last time . . . just tell me how you are though . . . ❞ Bob tried to strike up some casual conversation— they had a little time . . . very little.
But he’d be lying if he said he didn’t want to know how an old friend was doing.
