nah obviously the whole karasuno bench has their angst potential but narita?? goddamn, narita has it so bad? for valid reasons that work out well for the team yes, but my man gets screwed over

he's the only MB in the club, the game needs two, and he's decently tall. like out of any of the bench, he's the one almost guaranteed a spot on the team, given karasuno's intake of 3-5 players a year. even if one or two MBs rock up, he'll probably make it on.

and that's what happens! there's one guy that's a good deal taller than him, okay, but the other one that joins, narita's taller, he has more experience and better skills. still on the team! woo!! time to make his friends proud, and make it up to the team for running away.

then, daichi has a conversation with kageyama in sakanoshita, the practice match roster comes out and oh. they've replaced him with hinata. hinata, who doesn't really know how to block, who has an insane jump but is still shorter, who doesn't even want the position when it's first announced.

tanaka encourages hinata with "you suck! we know! so what!? daichi-san knew how bad you were when he put you out here." so... narita's even worse than that, then? is he so bad they made hinata switch positions to take his place? uh yeah having too many thoughts about narita ow
