Haikyuu!! : Suga-senpai (âż âĽâżâĽ)
"Natsume. Itâs nice to meet you too." His reply was a little more awkward than Sugaâs exuberant one. "Is Halloweâen a big event for you?" Soon enough, he chooses a pumpkin thatâs a little on the small side, but probably more acceptable for the outside of an apartment door anyway. "This one seems good. Those tools areâŚ?"
â§Â âI guess you could say that,â the silvette replied with a chuckle, enjoying the pleasant conversation. "It's cute, I like it. I've got them in the foyer of the complex. Hereâ let me show you." Leading the way to table that happened to possess the necessary tools as well as Sugawara's own choice of pumpkin. "So.. what are you going to make?"  Â
"Pumpkins? Ah, thatâs right. Halloweâen." Pause. "I wouldnât mind helpingâŚ?"
â§Â "Ahâ thanks so much~! I know it's early yet, but just wanted to get a head start on decorating. Anyways, if see a pumpkin you like, I'd be happy to show you to where I've got the carving tools. Name's Suga, by the way~ Nice to meet you!" Â
@hp_bacio
â§Â "I hate to be a botherâ but if you have time, I could really use a hand carving all of these pumpkins. Guess my holiday spirit bit off more than it could chew.."

There was a little pang of pain in his backside from the impact and a hand absently reached back to rub the afflicted spot, the smile still on his face however as he faced the silvette who had accidentally run him down then helped him up again. He seemed nice and friendly which was what was keeping the smile on Makotoâs lips; He was always on the look out for new friends here, he still hadnât felt settled completely and he guessed it was the lack of new friends.
He loved his friends, he dearly loved Haru even though he didnât know exactly what they were at the moment, but new people were fun.
"WhatâŚ? No, you canât do thatâŚ!" It was shopping for two people and he had money from Ikki and himself in his wallet, but as he protested Suga was transferring his purchases into his cart and Makotoâs was left empty and useless. "UhmâŚat least let me give you some money for those..? Or I can buy you lunchâŚ?" Since nothing he was buying was immediately perishable.
"Sugawara, itâs nice to meet you." Makoto answered with a wide smile. "I need to get some cans." Cat food and such, he was feeding a stray near his complex.
It didn't take Sugawara long to drain the other's cart of its purchases; nevertheless, he was pleased that the brunet had allowed him to do so without too much protest. He gave a small nod and the accompanying shrug of his shoulders seemed to say, 'why not?' to the suggestion of lunch. (Though they would have time to discuss this in more detail later on). Right now, there was shopping to be done!
â§Â "It's nice to meet you too, uhh..â w-what was it that you said your name was again?" Suga asked, slightly embarrassed for not remembering whether the other had mentioned it or not.Â
Maneuvering their now combined trolley with a precise delicacy towards the correct aisle that had been designated to him, the silvette used this short stroll to momentarily observe the new friend that he had just made. Makoto was a lot taller and more muscular in build than himself, despite the fact that their personalities both seemed so similar. It was something that Suga suddenly found great comfort in â realizing that people, like gifts, could come in all sorts of different packages.
As the pair rounded the corner together, any remaining awkwardness lingering from their very unusual encounter had vanished within him entirely. In fact, the action felt almost familiar, as if he had been shopping with an old friend as opposed to this new stranger.
Momentarily forgetting himself as he reached for a can of cat food, Sugawara tossed the item in Makoto's direction. However, it wasn't until after, when the brunet fumbled to get the item in the cart, that he realized this probably hadn't been the best idea.Â
â§Â "Sorry! For a second there I blanked on who was shopping with. One of my teammates and I always practice using the items like a volleyball. It's the only way I can get him to go shopping with me.. but, you probably don't play, right?â
"I can try my utmost best to assist you. Where is it you need to be?"
â§Â "Well, I thought I was headed in the right direction towards the city's gymâ but apparently I'm not. Thanks for the help, by the way.."
Sticker sheet for AX, shout-out to my homegirl Wing for the idea!
            â§Â "Excuse me, are any of you familiar with your way around the area? ..I think I might be lost. Heh.â And definitely late ;;;
settermama started following you
Another recognizable crow! Pretty soon, Toshi would have to control the rising number of black birds. âOh! Sugawara-senpai, youâre here as well! This i so great.â Yachi averted her gaze but seemed to hold back her excitement. It seemed like everyone she knew was hereâŚdoes that mean it would be possible for all of them to reunite again?
"H-how have you been?"
It wasn't until the familiar tone had called out his name that Sugawara became fully aware of Yachi's presence in his vicinity. However, the surprise certainly wasn't unwelcome, that much was clear from the bright smile that enveloped the silvette's features as he turned around to great her.
⧠âA-Ahâ Yachi-san!! It's so nice to see you again. I've been doing well enough, how about yourself? Have you also settled in to the city as well?"Â
Heâd never heard of it before. When he thought of notebooks, he was reminded of school and studying and exams, none of which were remotely enjoyable, though he would lay his trust in the elder setterâs decision of viewing material for the night. How bad could it be?
Ah, the reminder of the last time; of the thin clouds of smoke that seeped from the microwave, and the unpleasant charred smell that lingered in the small kitchen for days later. Heâd done well up until this point not thinking about it, though the image was unavoidable now, shoulders sagging meekly at the thought. âGot it.â Three minutes. Not thirty-three, or thirty, or thirteen. Just three. The last time was unlucky but this timeâ this time itâd be a success.
And it was just that, a success, as he emerged from the kitchen approximately four minutes later with a warm bowl of popcorn in hand; trying not to look as accomplished as he currently felt.
The only thing that could mess his achievement up now would be dropping the bowl, but he wouldnât. He didnât. It was given a safe place on the small coffee table in front of the television.
Judging from the look he'd received in response, Kageyama had never heard of his selection before (not that this was in any way surprising).  While he found it slightly disappointing that his partner's overall knowledge of pop culture was extremely lacking, he knew it was probably for the better; this time, at least. Therefore, due to the unfamiliarity with the film's diegesis, the silvette swiped one of the boxes of tissues from an end table and situated it closer to their vicinity, just in case.
With their timing in perfect synch, it was just as Kageyama returned triumphant with a delicious smelling bowl of goodness that the movie's title screen had begun to play. Although, it wasn't until after snuggling into his favorite spot, his head resting comfortably against Kageyama's shoulder, that the movie was allowed to start.
They didn't manage to get far, only about halfway through the opening credits when a loud crunching noise began sounding in Sugawara's ear. Glancing up at his partner, the silvette had to contain a giggle after taking in the absorbed expression painted upon Kageyama's features; though he had a sneaking suspicion it wasn't the movie that had so tightly held the darker haired boy's interests, but rather a certain salty snack.

âWhaââ No, no, no, wait. âPlease can we make popcorn..?!â
The enthusiasm in his slightly raised voice over the traditional movie snack surprised even himself. Generally, heâd never think about or even want popcorn, but it was just a necessity when watching movies. The only thing better than being absorbed in the action unfolding on screen before your eyes was being absorbed in the action unfolding on the screen before your eyes while shovelling handfuls of popcorn in your mouth. Dropping a few wayward pieces down the front of your shirt was optional, though tended to add to the overall experience.
Moving swiftly on from his unexpected outburst⌠âWhat movie did you pick?â
He wasn't sure how, but somehow, within the past minute, Kageyama had gotten ten times cuter. Suga had suspected it had something to do with the fact that the darker haired male wasn't the type to show excitement over much, especially not when it concerned such a trivial matter. And so, because of this, Koushi quickly decided that he would not tease the other any more about their salty snack. For now, at least.
Perhaps it was the look on his face, or the way his voice had gone up in pitch ever so slightly when he used the word 'please', but for whatever reason, Suga couldn't keep a small blush from creeping over his cheeks. However, he hid it well, feigning to glance over some of the videos before selecting the one he'd already had in mind.
⧠âThe Notebook, if that's okay? I'll get it set up if you make the popcorn. Remember, only three minutes this time though. Wouldn't want to burn it like last time~â

Makoto always felt at a loss when it came to cooking now that Ikki had basically taken over, he knew how to dice, mince and generally help prepare the ingredients but cooking the food came down to Ikki; so, as a compromise, heâd told his housemate that if they split the food bill heâd go do the weekly food shopping on his way back from classes when he didnât have swim meets with his friends. In his hand he held the neatly written up list that he and Ikki had compiled together over dinner last night, his other hand resting on the bar of the shopping cart handle as he gazed over the various priced vegetables that were displayed before him; they had a budget but which should he pick? His gaze was up reading the labels and weights of each of the three boxes of lettuce when his cart lurched into him and his legs gave out as the back of his knees hit the side of the display and he toppled to the ground with a surprised yelp. His hands smacked down on the tiles of the floor and he sat there legs sprawled, the list now crumpled in his hand as startled green eyes turned to look at whatever had caused the rather surprising sequence of events. The panicked look the other had made Makoto fluster and he raised his hands to flap them absently.
"No, no! Donât worry! Iâm totally fine! Please, donât feel bad!â But he did accept the help to his feet, using his hand as leverage to pull himself up to his feet and dust himself off. Once done, he turned a smile on the shorter boy. âPlease donât worry, Iâm not hurt or anything, but thank you for helping me up.â Absently, his thoughts went to the fact he still didnât know what lettuce he wanted to pick; maybe the cheaper? âDid you pick out a rogue cart?â You know, the ones where the wheels went whichever way they pleased; light joking was in his tone.
To say he was embarrassed would have been an understatement. Suga was absolutely mortified by the crime he had just accidentally committed against the equally as flustered stranger. It wasn't normally like him to zone off into dreamland, unlike a certain dark haired male that he knew. Thankfully, Makoto wasn't seemingly hurt and warmly accepted Suga's apology, which allowed the silvette to relax his currently distressed expression.
Ruffling the hair on the back of his head, Suga cracked a small smile at the brunet's question. He was relieved that the stranger had been nothing but understanding and friendly about this whole thing. (Though he was still inwardly kicking himself for becoming distracted.)
â§Â "Haah, not sure I can really blame the cart for this one, but it's entirely possible. However, please, let me buy you your purchases for today.. and I won't be taking no for an answer, by the way. Just incase you decide to try it~â
His retort held a cheeky tone to it, but Suga's smile was genuine. He knew it was necessary to do something nice in order to make up for all this mess; not to mention the fact that even within their first few moments of meeting, Suga could tell that the other was generally a pleasant person. Therefore, in order to show he was serious about paying for the purchases, the shorter male quickly scooped any items located within Makoto's cart and placed them within his own cart before he could protest.
â§Â "Now that that's settledâ The name's Sugawara, but everyone calls me Suga. Or Koushi, if you prefer it. What's next on the list?â
{ little bow sweet }
Kageyama didnât resist letting the other join their arms in a link, though he was a little unsure what to do with his own, which way to hold it. Should he cock it out slightly or draw it closer to his waist? Or just let it sit as it naturally would, as though he had his hands in his pockets? Was there generally a protocol for these sorts of things? He had no idea. After some indecisive, and probably strange, rearranging of his elbows, the brunet opted for a natural stance, releasing the tension in his arm that he hadnât realised he was holding, and simply let Suga shepherd him back home.
It was something that the younger setter couldnât help but notice; Sugawara was always so kind. Granted, he was also known to have a mischievous streak, but that aside, Sugawara always had some words of encouragement or little tidbits of wisdom up his sleeve for any occasion. He was always keeping a watchful eye on those around him. It didnât matter what the situation was, he always seemed to see the brighter side of things. It was often refreshing and reassuring, and Kageyama thought that it suited the elder boy quite nicely. Which was all well and good, but that didnât mean actually responding to his encouraging support was exactly easy. Well, for Tobio, at least. He usually replied with a quiet nod, cheeks occasionally hued in a rosy pink, situation dependent. This happened to be one such situation; acknowledging the otherâs words with a few quick nods, eyes cast forward, itching to move the conversation forward.
Truth be told, he had been expecting some form of scolding or teasing, which would have been easier to deal with, though he wouldnât complain. Kageyama had a feeling that it wasnât to late to receive eitherâor bothâof those, anticipating them being delivered later in the evening when they had managed to navigate the route home.
"I got everything," he confirmed, trying not to sound as sheepish as he felt while being dragged through the streets like a child who had wandered off on their own and gotten themselves hopelessly lost. Which, he would insist if asked, was absolutely not that case.
"That sounds good," he admitted, flicking his eyes up to meet the otherâs as he turned to look over his shoulder. Perhaps the offer of steamed buns was just a ploy to coax the sulking setter into a better mood, which he even expected as much himself. Despite his suspicions, Sugaâs tactic seemed to have the desired effect, lifting Kageyamaâs spirits slightly; even the crease in his brow had softened. "Please let me buy them," he insisted, accenting his determination to be the one doing the treating by tugging gently at the elderâs arm, getting him to turn around and look at him. It was about time that he gave back to Suga for all of the fussing and kindness that he handed out so freely on a daily basis. It was only something small, a seemingly insignificant act, but it was a start, wasnât it?
Pleased enough with his reaction, despite the fact that Kageyama was not as enthused as Suga would have preferred him to be, the older setter offered one of his characteristic smiles to the other, a silent signal of his approval. It was clear that he was very excited by the thought of indulging in favorite treat, seeing as Suga's pace quickened now as he lead his little black sheep in the proper direction towards their new destination.
Currently distracted, humming a tune about pork buns to himself, it was at this precise moment that Kageyama had decided to speak again; this time insisting that he be the one to do the purchasing today. However, just as the Suga was about to voice his disagreement, the younger male gave his arm an assertive squeeze. He wasn't quite sure why Tobio was so adamant about the matter, but the look on his face alone was enough to make Suga cave to his will. No matter how bad he was at dealing with others, the elder setter had and would probably always be weak to seeing a Kageyama with an expression of thoughtful determination.
â§Â "Ummmm.. alright, I guess. But you owe me for this~"
He stated, accompanying the comment with a cheeky wink. Luckily for him, before the other could make too much of an argument about it, the pair arrived at the proper shop. Eager to make their purchase and to return home so he get back to helping with the unpacking, Suga released his partner's arm and hurried in to make his selection.
It was a task that had suddenly become a difficult one upon his entrance into the store. This was because even the chime of the little bell located above the door was ascetically pleasing to Suga, who was feeling now, more then ever, like a kid in a candy store. His face had been pressed up against the glass, eyes gazing over every goodie located inside the display, by the time Kageyama had caught up to him.Â
With a sheepish glance back at the other, the elder setter informed the store keeper what they would be purchasing for the evening, even though it wasn't really a surprise to anyone anymore. After the expected exchange of buns for cash had been completed, with Kageyama keeping to his insistance of paying for them, the boys headed back on their way to the place they both currently called home. Thankfully, it wasn't too far of a walk; one which Suga spent the entirety of the time clutching the bag of buns enthusiastically.
With a sigh of relief as they finally reached the doorway, Suga watched as Kageyama turned his new key into the lock and the door swung open. It took some rather skillful maneuvering for Suga to make his way through the clutter and into the kitchen, but somehow he managed, plopping the bag down directly onto the counter. Yet, before either of them could dig in, Suga's conscious urgently reminded him that he had not properly thanked his partner for the treat. Knowing this was incredibly rude of him, the shorter male sought to close the space between himself and Kageyama, all the while kicking himself for not thanking him yet.Â
It was in this moment that Suga tightly embraced his partner, clutching the smooth fabric of the other's shirt between his fingers and wedging his face in his favorite spot between Kageyama's neck and shoulder for a while. In addition to the affection, it happened that the slightest of blushes also managed to creep across his cheeks before Suga could finally manage the words..
             ⧠"âThank you."
č ĺ夊使 | KibiÂ
"Okay." Extreme action movies were his thing. They were fast paced, usually quite simple in terms of basic plotâbeat the bad guy, save the dayâand, visually at least, they were quite exciting. The appeal of âcuteâ films was generally lost of him, often finding himself struggling to keep up with the dilemma and complex emotions that the protagonist usually has to overcome, the problems faced between once-friends/rivals-now-love-interests, not to mention the subtext that goes right over his head more often than not. But Sugawara seemed to enjoy them, if his occasional stolen glances across his shoulder to the silvette were anything to go by, and that was as good as reason as any not to argue on the matter. "Can we make popcorn?" The salted kind and the sweet kind, because heâd recently discovered that mixing the two together in the same bowl was better than having either separately.
In complete contrast to Kageyama's preferences, Sugawara throughly enjoyed a good romance movie now and again. Their happy endings always left him with a feeling of satisfaction knowing that the characters had finally found their true love. And love, was definitely a topic the silver haired sweetheart was a sucker for.
Not only was the 'feel good' quality of these movies enjoyable for Suga, but Kageyama's overall confused reaction to them was also an added bonus as well. Typically, this resulted in the darker haired male asking questions, before, during, and after the film. While most would have found this incredible annoying, Sugawara actually really enjoyed hearing the other's involvement in the movie.Â
⧠"Do we ever not make popcorn..? Maybe I should just say no~"
