Stuck in a Tree
Seungyeon had lost track of time again, and she had to run to catch the bus or else she'd have to wait for an hour. She had been practicing her dancing in a room she rented every week, and as usual she had wanted to do her routine one last time before leaving, making her late. Suddenly she noticed something moving in a nearby tree. It was too big to be a cat. Seungyeon stopped running and looked from the tree to the bus stop. The bus was just pulling up, and if she sprinted she could make it. She turned her gaze back to the tree, bit her lip and sighed. Slowly she started walking towards the tree to check it out.
"Hey," she kicked the tree out of frustration as if that would make a difference. "Are you okay up there?" Now that she was closer Seungyeon could see that there was a girl in the tree. Seungyeon wondered how the female had even climbed the tree, and more importantly, why she would do that.

yeji made her way throgh the crowd as she heard the music start, with a cap covering her eyes she watched the competition. that was what this was after all, a competition and yeji she was ready for it. it had been a couple months since she had participating in one, because she wanted to be at her best. and the last time she participated she got second place to… her. yeji’s eyes widened as she saw seungyeon walk to the dancefloor, everyone rooting around her. she wasn’t after her, thankfully but she was the one after that– yeji watched with analyzing eyes, yes the female was a good dancer. there was no doubt about that– however now, in this setting yeji was sure she could do better. yeji had practiced for this after all. she rolled her neck and streched out quickly as the person before her was dancing, then it was her turn.
neon jungle’s brave heart came on and that had been her requested song, yeji walked to the middle of the crowd, yeji started dancing with soft movements– but when the chorus hit her moves got powerful, not one move was made by accident, every thing that yeji did she did with purpose. through out the entire thing she kept her cap over her eyes, though everyone could see her smile when she danced, it showed she truly enjoyed it.
when she finished, there was a moment of silence before everyone applauded her, maybe it was just her imagination but it felt like her applause was louder than those before her.
Seungyeon was so sure of her victory, she didn't even watch the next performer when she chugged down her water. When she had quenched her thirst she put the bottle back in her bag and lazily rejoined the cheering crowd. At first Seungyeon wondered why the current dancer was covering her eyes with her cap, but then it hit her. It couldn't be.. Seungyeon squinted her eyes as if that would help her recognize the girl. But that smile was familiar, and Seungyeon was sure she had seen it before. Mesmerized she watched the impressive movements as her cockiness drained away.
You could feel it in the energy of the crowd as well -as they clapped even harder than they had done for Seungyeon-, this was a perfect performance. There were a few more dancers, but Seungyeon was pretty sure it would be between her and the other female. She said a few silent prayers as she waited for the announcement, and then her heart dropped as her fears came true.
As usual, Seungyeon's first reaction was to get angry. When the crowd was done cheering for the winner, she stepped towards the female, trying to act cooler than she felt. Louder than was necessary she addressed the girl. "Hey... you! Don't I know you from somewhere?"

yeji had seen it on twitter and then on instagram, after talking to some of the members of her dance studio yeji had figured out the location. however it was not for high schoolers– and what was yeji? still in high school, even though she was graduatnig soon. so she had borrowed a big hoodie that covered her face– just to be sure no one could reconize her, if they by any chance did know her. grabbing her phone she scrolled over her instagram, noticing that a certain female was attending the same competition that she was there for… yeji remembered the last time she danced with seungyeon, it was a competition then too but she had lost. a fire started buring inside her as she wanted to win against the older female, even if she didn’t know that it was her.
getting past the ‘guards’ were surprisingly easy, they didn’t check anything, just let her past.
‘that’s weird,’ she uttered and found her way through the crowd, it was close to starting now, she was ready to show the underworld what she had to offer.
As Seungyeon stretched and did her warm-ups, more people started to gather. She felt the familiar nervous butterflies she always felt before a competition. She got up when they announced the first dancer and joined the crowd to watch. She was glad she wasn't first, but waiting only made her nerves grow stronger. When it was finally her turn, she sighed deeply to calm down, and took the stage as her name was announced. Zara Larsson's "It Ain't My Fault" started playing and Seungyeon began the routine she practiced meticulously over the past week. As soon as she began dancing she felt all the tension melt away and she focussed on her moves and her expressions. When the song ended she struck her final pose and received her applause. She grinned as she was sure she was going to win tonight.

Seungyeon stepped out of the bus and shivered a little from the cold. She pulled her scarf up to her nose and started to walk. Tonight the girl was joining an underground dance competition, so she knew she'd warm up soon enough. She was nervous and had taken two buses early, just in case she would miss one or the bus would be late. In the end nothing went wrong, so when she arrived at the location she was quite early and there were only two other people there. Seungyeon sat down against a wall and pulled out her phone to ease the awkwardness. She fixed her hair into a tight ponytail while looking in the camera and posed for a couple of photo's. Her fingers were cold as she swiped through them to find the best one. She put her phone down for a second, rubbed her hands together en blew on them to warm them up. It only helped a little. Seungyeon picked up her phone again and typed a quick message to go with the picture, letting her instagram followers know she'd be joining the competition tonight. She had almost two hours left until it started, so she grabbed her headphones, turned on her warm-up playlist and started to stretch.
