BEFORE SHE KNEW IT, plenty had been shared between them. Before they knew it, they could not be apart from each other’s worlds. There were still things that she has yet to know or to understand about Seulgi. There might be things that Seulgi would rather not say or share and that’s fine, for she has every right to express herself as little or as plenty as she wants or be as much as of herself that she feels comfortable with when it comes to their friendship. Whatever Seulgi wanted to show to her, whether it be herself or the world, Sunhwa was happy to receive it and flattered that Seulgi values their friendship on a same level as she does. She makes a small heart with her fingers of her free hand, laughing afterwards because she knows Seulgi was not the type to say such honeyed words like she would but the fact that she did just for her was adorable. “I don’t know who are all these people that you are referring to because nobody is ever staring at me. Well, maybe except after a long night of work and when I am cooped up in the recording room going over the playlists and the script because by then, looking pretty is the last thing on my mind and I am just the image of being comfortable while trying to get my work done. Flats taken off, sweatpants on, hair up in a messy bun back when I had longer hair. Not really the image of perfection by then.” Not that it bothered her. She was not trying to impress anyone at work and even if she did, she wanted to do it with her work and not her looks.
“I’m not being too good to you, silly. You are plenty good as it is. I am just reminding you of what is already great.” She pouts when the topic of dogs comes up, something she had been considering for awhile now but had not really decided anything about it yet. “There is a lot of things to consider when it comes to getting another pet for me, especially a dog. Well, firstly, I have to make sure that the dog I get would be okay and comfortable with me being away at work and able to entertain itself. And then I have to make sure that they get along with Miki. Miki does not give anyone a hard time, that I can say with all the guests I had over at my home but nobody ever stayed at my place for a long time so I don’t know how Miki would respond to someone new in the house, what more a dog.” Dogs are cute and she had a neighbour who raised a dog that she played with as a kid but she was more used to cats and she wasn’t sure if she would be as great as a caretaker for dogs. She likes to imagine that she is and that Miki is happy to be under her care. “Shiba inus are adorable, especially the black ones but I think samoyeds are my favourite. Hard not to love them when they look like walking clouds of happiness!”
She laughs more at the idea of her ever possibly being a daughter of someone from the mafia, her father being way too nice to even last a day or step foot into such a dangerous business. It does intrigue her though, to hear about this leather jacket that was bought, not able to think much about it or ask more on it when she is dragged into the tent and seated at a table. “Are you strong with alcohol? I don’t know if I am. I only ever drank once with my dad on my 19th birthday and I was just not a fan of it.” That night, her father laughed the entire night seeing her reaction to soju, not able to hold back her expression of distaste for it. She does not know if that opinion still stands today and it looks like she was going to find out. “Okay, but only one glass. One of us has to be the more sober one to bring back the other, after all.”
*˚ ♡ › at times like this, seulgi couldn’t help but admire her friend for her beauty. while seulgi would probably like someone homeless, with a pair of sweatpants and an supposedly effortless looking bun, sunhwa posessed that kind of beauty that would even make a potato sack look good on her. however, sunhwa was far more than simply beautiful. it was her kindness and the way she cared about others , about her, that adorned her lovely features with something that no one with only their looks could ever achieve. it was the warmth that radiated from her words and the softness gracing her eyes that caused so many people to be drawn to her including seulgi. sunhwa had every quality that seulgi admired in others, that made her trust her and sometimes she wished she could be more like her friend and less than herself. “ enough or else people will get jealous at our kdrama-esque perfect relationship” she joked, then grabbing into the air, acting as if she had just caught some heart. “ oh please, you would even look good if you didn’t shower for a week and i’m referring to these people who have tried catching a glimpse at you only seconds ago and about that guy who have asked me an awful lot of questions about you when i was on my way to visit you at the radio station.” she let out a dramatic sigh at the thought of it. “ of course i’ve told him that he can only talk to you if he sends me his criminal record and a psychological evaluation because you never know, right ?” she teased, playfully elbowing her “ as i’ve said it’s my job after all to keep all low-quality men from my high-quality girl until you’re thirty and can finally marry me.” she let her head fall to the side, grinning at her like a fool.
“ sush, you’re way too good with words, that’s why you’re probably a radio producer, charming people with pretty words. but i appreciate them, i do.” her eyes crinkled a little. although seulgi would be hit with a wave of embarrassment every time sunhwa would assure her that she was good the way she was, sunhwa was also only one out of a handful of people who she’d believe. someone for whom she’d try to become better. “ that won’t be a problem, i can take care of your dog then or even bring your dog with me to work, he or she could become a police dog and be all badass and stuff. and if miki doesn’t like the dog i will adopt it then, all of them, and you can keep buying dogs until miki will finally like one of them.” she suggested. of course she was only joking, despite of her undying love for dogs, but whether it were dogs she’d need to take care of or anything else, seulgi would do anything for sunhwa even if it meant she would have to hurt herself. that was just the way it worked, sunhwa would be always one of the top priorities of her life. “ well, you’re right i mean they’re all adorable in their own way but perhaps a samoyed might be better for you because they’re bigger than shiba inus and might be scarier if someone ever plans to attack you.”
“ honestly i’m that kind of loser in her twenties who had actually never even sipped at my mother’s wine to figure out what it tastes like.” she admitted, suddenly feeling a little flustered. it wasn’t as if it was her personal choice to never drink anything, it was just that she never really had the time to even think about it. while most people at her age or even younger would drink occasionally or just for fun by going out or having a night out, seulgi had spend most of her teens studying or spending her free time alone or with her siblings. also, there was rarely anyone whom she could trust enough to go and have a drink with and still be sure that that person would be responsible enough to take care of her if something might happen. but perhaps, it was the right thing to do, to wait for it ( although it was just a trivial matter ) and have her first drink with a true friend she could trust with anything. “ meaning i honestly don’t know if i will like it either, but i guess that’s what people do in their twenties and perhaps you’ll like it more after trying it the second time ?” she said, “ and knowing that you only drank once we have two fools sitting here right now.” she laughed. “ one drink isn’t enough i need at least three to get used to it.” she said, her eyes following the lady who was serving them some bottles of soju, then releasing her hair from the tight ponytail, brushing the falling strands behind her ear, mentally preparing herself for her first drink. “ how do i look?” she asked, pouring them soju. “ can you please take a picture of me and my first drink ? “ she chuckled, taking the glass into the hand, and holding it next to her face as she was preparing for her pose, then taking a sip, gulping it down, her nose scrunching up right after it. “ okay that stuff is disgusting but i’ve already ordered three bottles so we have to finish it because i can’t do it alone, sunny. ”
