If anything I post or reblog is harmful in any way, you can always let me know. I do my best to think critically before I post, but I’m only one person and have a lot of lapses in judgement. I might ask a few clarifying questions as to why you’re pointing out the thing if I’m not sure, but I won’t be mad at you.

If you’re triggered by something and I’m not tagging it, you can always ask me to tag it. Even if it’s a “weird” trigger-I will do my best to remember, and if I forget you can also always let me know.

Both of these apply even if we’re not mutuals. You can do it on anon, via dm, whatever makes you feel comfortable. Thats the point of this-I want people to feel comfortable with me.

so not to say that there's hard and fast rules to making fan works or understanding a piece of media, because I am just one person and this is just one opinion, but in my brain there's two essential rules to understanding isat, at least when we're talking about siffrin's (or loop's, or any other siffrin variant's) perspective:

everything is about the island. literally everything if you look at it hard enough

everything is also about the family. the whole family.

yes this means they are also both about each other.

yes you can do whatever you want forever but whenever I see stuff that's missing one or all of these things it feels kind of like it's not isat anymore? and again this isn't me trying to be prescriptive, I'm just offering my advice as someone who likes to rotate this game in my head

I'm SURE I can't be the first person to say this but Joshua MacHeath is an egg to me. she's like the most uncracked egg of all time though. all throughout college she'd say stuff to Sydney like "no yeah of course I don't have a problem with you being trans but like, I can't imagine actively wanting to be a guy, i always thought everyone would prefer being a girl, I know I definitely would if I could choose hahaha" and Sydney has to sit there like. it's excruciating to watch but he hates her too much to help her with it
