Have I ever said how much more I love tumblr layout for photos? man, I didn't even realise how much I have missed this...
Anyway, I bought these ballet shoes sometime ago and I had planned to use them for my Bimong body but they are just a tad too long... So my next order of business is to decide if I want to try to make them smaller by opening the backseam or if I just stuff the toes full... I mean not like I believe doll could stand with them unaided regardless... right?
Well, Instagram is starting to kill my posts by limiting the hashtags too, I am running back to actually posting on tumblr too, instead of just commenting and participating fandom dwelling.
Those who have followed me on Instagram (as fragmentedimagination), you know I sew a lot less than before but I do more faceups and wigs.
I mostly collect SD's but I have few MSD's stored under my bed...

Had an impromptu chat with @ushi418 about fashion history the other day- thought I’d post it here as a quick ref for people!
I’m super embarrassed about this but… could someone explain what those circles some people do in their faceups are? They’re usually above the eyes, around the eyebrow area. I thought they were eyebrows but then I saw a doll with both eyebrows AND these mystery dots/circles.

I was about to go scroll past this because I wasn’t sure what Anon meant… Then I remembered that half of my dolls have eyebrows AND dots on their forehead… To me, those dots were originally there just for the aesthetic purposes (They look nice) but as I mixed my both hobbies (dolls and writing) they became a thing. To me they’re there for the story line because They - dolls/characters with dots - have to be easy to tell apart from the “real” people - So they have dots and circles to represent that they’re different. Not alive. Not real. Soulless. Kinda like shackles, if you may. So I would say that they don’t necessarily mean anything, but are there for merely aesthetic purposes - sure, there might be story behind them but not necessarily a specific one and not for everyone : ) ( I don’t think that there is any universal meaning for them - unless they’re like Bindi, which do have more meaning ) Hope this helps!

What I’ve been up to: - Alpaca wigs have been a thing. Made that brown one on Mari-Mari’s head from scrap materials and I opened up couple Alpaca wig commission spots on my local facebook group to get more practice and some feedback on what I should/could do better. - Oh and I also modified Mari-Mari’s eyes. I opened them up quite much from what they were, though they ended up horribly asymmetrical. - Leia has been with me for over 1,5 years which is still a record with me. Usually, one doll stays with me about 6 months tops (usually way less though) so I had to do some celebratory pictures with her and Mari-Mari (since somehow I love these two cahracters together so much) Also Leia has been using much darker colors than her character should and I’m loving it.
What’s up with me: -I got and received this project doll few weeks ago but never got to start working on it because IRL happened, so did a custom order for an alpaca wig and then my hand had to be on cast/support for a week. But yesterday I got to start working on this doll - started off with a face-up. I’m gonna base her off on a dream character that has been quite frequent in my dreams lately. She is an albino doll (moves and acts on her own in my reality. Like, I keep chatting with her in my dreams and she keeps teasing my cats) that somehow controls the events happening around me. I still can’t remember what her real name is in my dreams because it slips me the moment I wake up.

I can not answer to tumblr asks as sewingseamswithstitches anymore for some reason (this is my alt account) O___O Sorry that I have not been replying because of this, but for some reason not even the tumblr messages/chat works properly, at least some of my friends have been saying that they can not receive my messages... so @andromeda314 I got your message, I’m so sorry that I couldn’t reply to you asap! I’ve kinda moved out of tumblr communication for good (because I still find it awkward to reblog my own posts to reply to comments and that the fact that the chat is not to my liking) so if you want to chat more about dolls and sewing, I’m almost always online on my IG account “ fragmentedimagination “ ! And you Anon, asking me about tutorials, I’m sorry, I did read your message once while I was half-asleep but I’m not sure if I accidentally deleted the message or if Tumblr lost that one too... I’m sorry, I’ve been meaning to make a new tutorial for the longest time but I’ve been suffering from the lack of energy to do pretty much anything (including house chores) outside of work for the past weeks. I’ll try to do at least “what’s been up” posts here on tumblr at least once a month in 2k17. On Ice -trash
how you post such nice quality photos on instagram? mine always turn out fuzzy!
Ah, well, I actually post both not-so-good-cellphone-pics and actual DSLR pictures. My phone actually has a relatively good camera, but I’ve never really bothered to learn to use it properly. So I leave it up to filters and slight contrast/light/darkness editing. (well, I use them anyway. Filters, I mean)But for the actually “quality” pictures, I have Canon EOS 750D and it has this really awesome feature that I can transfer my pictures straight from my camera to my phone so I can just upload them in like I had taken them with my phone...!But I actually find that method a bit complicated so I usually just transfer the pictures from my Canon to my laptop, roughly weed out overexposed and shaken pictures and then I’ll just dump them to my flickr from where I choose few best shots and save them to my phone and then I post them on instagram.But for the cellphone pictures I just make sure to wipe the phone’s camera lens clean, try to take pictures in places where there are lots of light and use extra effort for posing the doll. Rest I’ll just leave for the filters and adjusting contrast/light/darkness.Hope this helps!~Ren
I’ve become so inactive here ever since I started using instagram, haha... It’s just so much more easier and requires less effort... So what’s new? (besides that I’ve become Mystic Messenger trash?) Ummm... + Made asymmetric leggins for [sample] and [SAMPLE] (grey, - half shorts, half full length) + Made a new wig for [sample] (it should look more overgrown, since her character doesn’t really bother with her hair - she only starts caring when she “evolves”) + Made leg harnesses for both of [sample]’s and painted them. (using milliput, I swear, sculpting is not my thing) +/- Modified a suit that I bought some time ago from a sale, so that it actually FITS Lucas and doesn’t look baggy on him (=read= took 2 cm in from every damn seam) - Have been avoiding writing Fragmented Imagination because it’s crap and I’m ashamed. Damn, precious story that is so important to me... I guess that’s pretty much it? I’ve been struggling with sleeping problems for a long time now and it’s being treated atm but it makes me lazier than normal so I doubt I’ll do anything major anytime soon because I either work, sleep or look at the ceiling like a zombie I am... So instagram it is. I’ll try to post here everytime I do more than take cellphone pics too... (in case someone is interested, I’m fragmentedimagination on IG)
I made some more alpaca wigs~ When [sample] “evolves” (I’ve not yet settled with any specific term) to Big [sample], I figured that her hair might grow a bit too (Honestly, I just butchered [s]’s wig too much so it ended up way too short)? Fun Fact: [s] and [S] can’t exist at the same time since they share a body and [S] is like an alter-ego of some sort that [s] can’t control nor remember the times when [S] is in the control but she knows that it happens. (I just want to take pictures of them together.) ... I want to take pictures where Lucas is hugging [s] (because he loves her as a family member) and suddenly [S] decides to take over and Lucas will be all “WTF HAPPENED TO MY CUTE LITTLE COUSIN” and then [S] will be all over him and he’s gonna me be like “WaIT! WHY!?!?” and [S] will be just like “Oh don’t worry, [s] is sleeping so just be mine <3″ (because she loves Lucas like her soulmate) and Lucas will continue to be all “WTF” because it’s way too much for him to understand (well he also thinks that [S] is his soulmate, but you know, it would just be super weird) ... Not that it would actually happen...
Well... You know, I mean... My hand slipped? And no, I didn't sew 4 MSD/SD sets, silly! ... ... There are only 3 MSD hoodies... Got distracted... My new raw alpaca came and I should go buy more rubber bands and make some wig caps..
I did a speed sewing session to get at least something matching for [sample]...s. Had to test out the size and length before cutting the last of that mustard fabric I used for the old [sample]'s shirt TT____TT my fave fabric, how am I gonna survive without it...!?! And since I used a flea market find shirt (yay for recycling and 0,5€ for a shirt), I ran out of width to make Big [sample]'s sleeves with proper length and both hoods ended up being too small. But, well, it is somethint, even though actually quite crap)

Could you make more tutorials? I really liked your tunic tutorial. I want to make more clothes for my dolls but I can't seem to make them look nice.
Hello! (I wonder how long this has been on my inbox. I had completely missed this .____.)I’m working on making a tutorial dress but my IRLife is giving me hard time and my job is taking all my excess energy to actually do anything on my free time (haha, not that I have much of that luxury either) So I’m working on some tutorials and some patterns but it might take a while before I can upload them.
I stumbled upon your latest post (of your doll with sliver/gray hair and all the new stuff you sewed) while looking at other bjd things, and just wanted to say that she is the cutest and you did an AMAZING job <3 ya know that feeling you get when you see something new and your eyes kind of turn into the heart emoji things. well that's what i felt when i seen that post. May I get a round of applause? I have not been this productive for a year at least... I’ve made full outfit, tried my hand at alpaca wig making and they all turned out usable. + Yellow Shirt with lace trim (pattern from memory) + Grey Dress with lace trim hem and lining on neckline/armholes (base pattern, modified while sewing, took some centimeters in from the waist) + Colorful Hoodie, with lace lining on hood + ruffled lace trims + lace + bronze leaf beads for tightening the hood (no pattern) + White Stockings (no pattern) + grey alpaca wig (first try)
