Michelia doltsopa - in the same family as the magnolia, but a different genus. These wonderfully fragrant flowers are encased in burnt orange tomentose petals. We spotted this one blossoming at 19th and Harrison street and immediately started circling, smelling and pointing at it in wonder.
Bromeliad blossom. This blossoming beauty is a close relative of the pineapple and many epiphytic air plants.
