Check Up Appointment 🐼 Regina & Tara 🐼

   It was becoming difficult for her to quickly scarf up the sandwich that she’d ordered from Granny’s. Thanks to an idiot nurse, her lunch had been cut short as the nurse somehow made a child’s broken arm worse. HeTara had to fix the damage and save the nurse from being murdered by the parents. She mused that maybe she should’ve let them. The doctor would have to look into getting the nurse transferred to another area of the hospital. Her thoughts turned back to the child. While she was happy that she’d gotten them to calm down and put their arm in a cast, it only left her with five minutes to finish her lunch before her next appointment came in. She had a habit of being on time and wasn’t about to break it. Especially since it was the mayor that was coming into her office.

    Tara chewed on her sandwich as she mulled over the appointment. She’d already seen both the mayor and her husband, letting them know that they were having twins. The doctor was happy for them, knowing they had tried before coming to adopt Henry. It seemed that Fate decided that it was finally time to have one of their own. She knew that the two were overjoyed and couldn’t wait for the little ones to come. Tara always enjoyed helping bring the little ones into the world. Taking another bite of her sandwich, she hummed in happiness. No one did a chicken salad sandwich like Granny’s.

      She felt her eyes widen at her door starting to open. “ Shit! Just a second!” Tara yelled, scrambling and cramming the  reminder of her sandwich into her mouth. Somewhat choking for a few moments, she managed to swallow it and coughed as the door was finally open. It took her a few moments to finally speak as the coughing stopped.

         “ Hello Mayor Mills, it’s nice to see you again. Please take a seat.” She gestured to the exam area, clearing her throat as she tried to ignore the burning in her throat. The doctor smiled, unaware that there was a small bit of chicken salad sticking to her cheek.

She hummed softly as she looked over test results for one of her younger patients, trying to figure out how exactly the little one had gotten Strep Throat. Hearing a noise, Tara turned around, surprised that she had left the door to her office open. Normally the doctor left it closed, a deterrent to Whale attempting to come in. “ Hi, can I help you?” She asked softly.

“Savior. “ Emma could only repeat what the other woman was trying to tell her. This wasn’t a normal situation. It was bullshit and at the same time somehow believable, since literally everyone here believed it. She stroke her hand through her hair. “I don’t have a mom.. “ the blonde said looking at the ground slightly.

“ If I didn’t know any better, you sound like you’ve never heard the word before.” Tara teased a little before frowning. “ You do actually. Everyone does or you wouldn’t be here.” She tried to make a joke at the end before speaking again. “ Look, I  know it’s weird but you’ve got a mom and I use to work for her back when she was a kid.  Now, I feel really old.” Tara laughed and sipped her tea.
