Yeah, I think that's fair analysis. I don't think she's the worst coach ever or anything like that, but she wants to play in a way that I don't think suits this fever team.

In my mind fever at their best are similar to barça, brilliant attack, but they're gonna concede. She's tryna make them into arsenal (I'm an arsenal fan) - defensively solid, but more often than not hard to watch. But they don't have that kinda defense and it's a waste of offensive talents that she has.

You don't try and make ronaldinho into a role player.

Dunno, I just find a lot of her decisions baffling, from what calls to challenge (not entirely on her), the fact that her way of defending leaves cc isolated defensively, to the way she overthought everything and decided that the best pnr in the league is too predictable.

i don't think the team has the personnel to play how she wants to play tbh i think it's a poorly constructed roster. wants to be a great defensive team but the only great defender in the starting lineup is aliyah, and then lexie is good. they for sure need to tighten up the defense, the effort and miscommunications sometimes in general are just pretty poor. but ultimately, if your big 3 is aliyah/caitlin/kelsey, your defense is not gonna be your strength, your offense is gonna be where they'll all shine. we saw the ridiculous numbers they put up in 2024 and that was their first season together. yes, the defense needs improvement, but the offense has looked horrible at times and it really shouldn't be.

on defense off the ball caitlin is good in the passing lanes but very poor when she gets caught ball watching. on the ball it's a toss up. she can be good when she wants to, she's had some good defensive games and others where she got cooked. she doesn't have to be a fully lock down defender, but she does have to put an effort every game because she can't be a negative on that side of the ball. i think she has the tools to be better on that side

yeahhh the pnr thing is so wild to me. honestly feels disrespectful to both aliyah and caitlin because they're two of the highest iq players in the league, they're both smart enough and good passers to continue to make it work even if everyone knows what they're gonna do. making your two best players make the decisions will always be the way to go

Tbf I'm not even a fever fan, I'm just a fan of abcc (and occasionally km) basketball that used to be very exciting. Her coaching has sucked the joy out of it.

I have no allegiance in basketball, but I do have some teams and players I have soft spots for

yeah, in general just hasn't been a good start to the season for her. i think her play calling especially in clutch situations has been generally good, but that's probably the only thing i would definitely highlight. some of her rotations and offensive sets just haven't made sense to me tbh. hasn't helped that caitlin, aliyah and kelsey haven't been at their best either so their games just feel flat sometimes for sure
