just a bunch of perfectly normal humans
The way two characters who are written to be pieces of shit can differ... Jax from TADC and Chloé are so similar yet their shows handle them so differently.
They are both written to be the worst person ever™ but the message is so different because one of the authors actually has empathy towards people who "aren't deserving of it", mostly because Jax is supposed to be the author's worst parts all clumped up together in bunny form, while Chloé is the incarnation of the author's high school bullies.
Jax is a cautionary tale about reaching out to the hands the people close to you offer you. It's about not repressing oneself, not taking it out on others or you'll end up like her, consumed by it all. Yet the other characters (victims of her abuse) recognize that while everything she did was self inflicted, it really wasn't easy for her. All the internalized transphobia, misogyny, self hatred and abstracting her own actions made the perfect recipe for the worst version of Jax to come out. "Isn't she lovely" No the fuck she isn't, but had she reached out before, she would have been lovely, she would have been wonderful. Her story is tragic! It takes her dying for her to realize that all she's been through and all she's done could've been avoided if she just talked to Pomni/Ribbit/Kaufmo/Ragatha about it.
Chloé, while actually being very similar to Jax, her being a parental abuse victim who takes it out on her classmates and who other people "tried" To reach out to. However when she is punished it's not a "look at the tragedy of this 14 year old who pushed all the people close to her away and now has to stay with her worst abuser", but rather a "Hah! She got what was coming to her, am I right?". She is characterized as stupid, cruel for the sake of being cruel, with the emotional intelligence of a piece of Camembert and spoiled (I won't say she's characterized as a racist because that's just something Astruc said on Twitter and has no basis in the show. As long as it's not said in the show, it's not canon) but they seem to say that she is like that because she likes being like that, not because her parents abused her into being like that.
She could have easily been a cautionary tale like Jax, or proof that anyone can be redeemed if they allow themselves to reach out (to either Ladybug or Céline). Instead we got "evil child is evil child because she is evil child and she loves being evil child". Such shit writing, this show has the depth of a sheet of paper, everything has to be dumbed down to the max because the writers can't write.
Yellow souls may have an issue
This is the Money Susie. Reblog and you'll get some money in your future
ok i’ve never posted anything like this before but i haven’t seen anyone talk about this yet and i couldn’t stop thinking about it!!
please let me know if i’m crazy or not (in a nice way though please)
Alright, Chapter 5 is barely 24 hours old, so I apologize if these takes turn out to be lukewarm or obvious in hindsight, but I need to throw this out there or I'm gonna explode.
I wanna talk about Flowery.
Everyone fucking hates Flowery. Why?
Everyone is comparing his reveal to Tenna's, but those circumstances could not be more different in terms of narrative. Tenna is, from the jump, supposed to be light-hearted and fun. He is the personification of the Fun Gang letting loose and having a good time. This is what makes his eventual reveal that he's working with the Knight into an actual betrayal. If we didn't trust Tenna, that moment wouldn't work.
With Flowery, the vibes are rancid from the moment he's revealed. He's charming and charismatic, but something is off. Not to mention that Ralsei absolutely despises him.
So, why make Flowery unlikable? What's the point?
Well, the point is that Flowery is the exact opposite of Tenna.
With Tenna, we like him, but he's wrong.
With Flowery, we hate him, but he's right.
Everything that Flowery does to Asgore is an exact mirror to what Ralsei did with Kris and Susie at the beginning of the game. In fact, the entire chapter is a complete mirror of Chapter 1's dark world!
Flowery gives Asgore a home, gives him friends, tells him that he's special. And yet, we spend the entire chapter trying to get Asgore out of that situation, with the understanding that it's dangerous.
But what about it is dangerous? The denial of reality? Because Susie is now living in a dark world. The exact thing that Asgore gave an entire heartwarming speech about not doing.
When Flowery tells us that we could close Castle Town instead of his dark world and we would be no closer to the Roaring, we hate him because he's right. When he says that all the flowers want is to live and a chance to make Asgore as happy as he's made them, we hate him because he's right.
And, at the end of the chapter, he tries to defeat us with the power of friendship. The other flowers never turn on him. He uses a mercy attack against us, and Kris responds by hitting him with a sword.
Y'all, were supposed to hate Flowery. And we're supposed to feel uncomfortable about why we do.
guys don't worry she saved them
Don’t come back.
Woah hello sir, I haven’t drawn you in years
I got a horse surprise box from @shiftythrifting because my mom’s birthday is coming up (she likes horses) there were a couple of keychains in there but I thought they needed a little extra so I added beads to them.

Those scenes of Mizi being very close with men made me so uncomfortable this poor lesbian girl who is getting abused and exploited, sexualized and objectified is now being forced to be physically close to men to further sexualize her and there’s nothing she can do about it
And Sua my precious precious girl, she literally has not done anything wrong in this eps (that I’ve seen yet) and she gets treated so badly. She doesn’t get to debut which was also her dream. She has to watch HER GIRLFRIEND be close with men and be sexualized knowing how uncomfortable it makes her. She’s watching her love spiral and when she tries to step in she’s hit. Physically abused (I don’t blame Mizi but seriously 2 for 2 atp, stop hitting her) never getting her dream then having her love her turned into a zombie. So she decides to also become one because Sua cannot live without Mizi and she will always die for her. So she becomes a zombie gets abused and exploited and then dies for her love as she gets chopped up to be sold.
Wether it’s all of her or just her arm is unclear, eternal means it goes on for ever so maybe it’s just her arm and they’ll have her still preform, like how it’s implied Mizi lost her eyes (they were sold) but she still preforms, we will probably have to wait and see. Or if they chop everything up and once again Sua dies for Mizi. But in this universe Mizi doesn’t seem sad at first but I think she just isn’t able to express it because of the audience. Once she finished her sign song it seems her face drops or maybe not.
Sua my girl you have done nothing wrong and yet you are always the victim. Mizi my girl you are never treated right and you will always be villainized for having reactions to your trauma because you are a woman.
I BETTER NOT see ANY lesbian Mizi deniers because of those few frames when it’s about how she is getting EXPLOITED AND SEXUALIZED
The contrast of the music and the visuals, how even the visuals contrast with each other. The switch to the black in white towards the end. Everything was done so well, I really enjoyed it some parts made me uncomfortable but that’s the point. YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE BECAUSE IT IS A DIRECT CRITIQUE AND CRITICISM OF THE IDOL AND MODEL INDUSTRY AND THE PARASOCIAL AND CREEPY RELATIONSHIPS PEOPLE HAVE WITH IDOLS.
In my opinion Alien Stage was about the grayness of humanity both the good and bad but mostly about how humans can always love and how beautiful that love is. It comes in different ways and forms but no matter what humans will always love. I think Zombie Stage is going to be the other half the humans can’t love without exploiting and will focus on mainly the harms of humans. No matter what humans will always exploit. It will be a contrast of love and exploitation but that’s just my prediction.
