So today I did something that the me years ago NEVER would have done.
Basically I went to a beach and was walking around half naked without feeling insecure at all? I know this is hardly a big deal for many people out there but IT IS to me - who have struggled with my own body image for the longest time.
I know my body is not that great - definitely NOT anywhere near perfect BUT I am so proud of myself (although there is nothing to be proud of) so just let the boy be :’)?
So I actually bought this swimming brief from arena like about 7 YEARS ago and I told myself that one day I am going to wear this out in PUBLIC and not give a f*** about what people may think of me or my body. So yeah, I guess that day is today.
Honestly, I guess I just grew tired of feeling insecure about my own body. I mean anyone can tell from these pictures that I do not exactly have a perfect one?
Like I am relatively skinny (upper ½), have rather thick thighs, no abs and quite a flat/deflated chest LOL.
But really, for those of you who are struggling with your body image, just let it go. Let all the expectations from others and yourself go. Down the bin where they belong. Focus on your assets instead.
If you feel like trash, remember that it is trashcan. Not trashcannot. (ok lame af)
But yeah… It took me 7 bloody years to finally accept my own body image and it was definitely not a very smooth journey, which I mentioned before in one of my earlier posts.
I mean obviously I still do feel a little insecure occasionally but that insecurity would not last and linger around for more than 10 seconds.
Nothing matters more than feeling happy and comfortable in your own skin. You will then radiate so much warmth and confidence on the outside and from within. Slowly but surely.
