haiii again!!!!! so, there are 2 accounts with a pattern that may be something dangerous... sex webring? maybe.. it's always this: default blog theme, one pic of theirs (usually a woman with well-defined boobs) and a reblog at the bottom. the latest one that i got had an ai girlfriend reblog (🚨RED FLAG RED FLAG!!!!🚨), and, i meann... this has a high chance of being the start of a scam, like a sex web ring. that one i mentioned earlier ALSO had a link to "their profile" (probably a dating site! or a scam!) so i'm just pretty confused and concerned :/
big love to this project! thank you! ^_^
I was going to mark this post as mature given the context, but I thought I should just explain the scam going on in general so everyone can learn about it.
Unfortunately, bots being used to mass reblog and like those scam 18+ ad posts that have images of scantily clad women with phrases like 'check out my bio' or 'click here' are not new.
One of the tags I used to follow for art (I'm an adult, and in this house we don't judge/kink shame) got so infested with those 'want to see me?' Ai 18+ posts last year, that staff had to fully ban/block the tag from being viewed. The tag wasn't even related to what the bots were posting, either!
Those posts would get hundreds if not thousands of likes and reblogs by other scam/bot accounts and it was just... utterly insane...
But, sadly, like I said, it's not new. It's just something that keeps happening until staff can figure out how to tackle them without making issues for ANY new account that joins. What users can do is block the other tags via the filter posts/phrases option that you can find in your settings. One such tag being "so hot 🔥 🔥 🔥"
The websites themselves? Nothing too surprising, they are 100% phishing websites that will undoubtably steal your credit card and personal information.
If you see these posts/blogs yourselves, especially the ones with links, report them as:
Something else > unlawful use > phishing
Also explain, while you are there, that they are using bot accounts to like and reblog the post so staff can go and snipe those too. :)
Thank you for your asks as always and I hope this helps!
