She weighed her options for a moment. Being a rogue assassin meant she could back out of contracts whenever she wished, if the price was right. Mercer wasn’t the type of man one crossed lightly, however. He’d no doubt look for other avenues to rid himself of Karliah.
Yet, she found that crossing him was a rather… delectable option. After all, the man was withholding part of her pay provided she got the job done. A pay he’d no doubt try to rob her of. But, coin or blood, she always got paid.
“Such confidence. I hope there’s more than just coin that could help sway me. I assume it’s reasonable to believe that my client isn’t the type you cross lightly.”
