Okay I have finished the hero of ages. I think it was okay. I don’t know I’m kinda underwhelmed by the end. Like Sazed being the hero of ages was good. But I felt like rest of it was so underwhelming…idk what my thoughts are…the prose seriously bothered me

Okay I think what has seriously been bothering me about Brandon sanderson’s books other than stormlight is that he doesn’t trust you as a reader to understand things. He writes it was a metaphor for xyz instead of just making it a metaphor. He doesn’t trust the reader to understand and interpret his characters thoughts, actions, or beliefs so instead he tells you. He doesn’t think the reader can understand his magic system so he pauses the story to explain the same things over and over again. He doesn’t trust the reader to remember what happened in previous books so he just reminds you over and over again.

This is confirmed by the fact that Brandon Sanderson reveals that the mist is preservation by the blurb before a chapter…

My only problem with the hero of ages audiobook is that Kramer uses adolin’s voice for elend and that’s not what that man sounds like!!

God I am seriously struggling with hero of ages. I’m over 30% of the way through this book and nothing has happened!! And there is so much telling instead of showing!
