                           HE HAS THE DECENCY TO LOOK GUILTY. Listen, Steve might not have a super-soldier stomach anymore, but he is still a pretty big guy who loves home-cooked food, so the snacks and sweets in the kitchen had been too alluring to resist. He also thought he’d been very sneaky, but apparently, Sharon used her espionage skills on him. Urgh. “It’s not my fault everything is so delicious,” he tries to come up with an excuse before a little plate is thrust under his nose. “You know, you’re actually rewarding my behavior right now. That is very counterproductive,” Steve explains with a grin as he reaches for the cake and shoves it right into his mouth, leaving powdered sugar in his beard. “Urgh. It's fantastic. I can’t let Bucky have any of this, Sharon, you gotta give me more.”

There's a moment of realisation and Sharon's eyebrows peak north as one hand finds her hip and her head tilts left. “Bucky Barnes is your little food-stealing accomplice?” There was mock horror there, “I have to beat both of your asses?” She teased, all expressions fizzling into a grin. She did love that he liked her cooking, it wasn’t exactly something Sharon had on her to-do list, but when you’ve spent the majority of your life fending for yourself and hopping from country to country then you learn a thing or two about feeding yourself and keeping yourself alive. “Go wash up, you can help me cook to pay for your crimes” She laughed.

“If you lay a finger on that pot, Captain, I’ll crush you.” Her delivery is laced with playfulness, not meaning a word of it, but she is onto him because everything she had been preparing for the new years party had been missing a few servings. She was also very aware that even now she wouldn’t be able to crush him, but she’d give it a damn good go. It’s only when the footfalls get closer that she finally giggles, “Here, greedy guts.” She turned to offer him a side plate with a singular serving on it. “I figured I’d like the rest of the batch to stay intact before our friends get here but–” She gestured for him to try it, “Aunt Pegs' old recipe, best lemon squares in England.”
