"I can't open up to you
Me and my friends are lonely
I don't know what to do
I always figured I'd be the one to die alone"
-Me And My Friends Are Lonely
An art trade I did for my friend @shardofthesun!! Check their stuff out!
This is based off of an au where, Bendy and Cup are in something similar to Third Life. More info on that under the cut
So originally this was supposed to have a companion fic, but I keep getting frustrated about writer's block every single time I've opened the document. I've decided if I finish it, I finish it, if I don't I don't
But Cuphead and Bendy got grabbed by an unknown being for some death games. The last one standing gets to go home. It specifically takes place between Cup's blackout and Nightmare Night, where they are still kinda on rocky terms in regards to trust.
At first Bendy refuses to cooperate with the death games, while Cup's all for it, leading to a lot of strain between them. Both of them want to go home and see their brothers. The game is absolute hell on them, and things start really imploding at the end.
As time goes on, Bendy becomes more guilty and worried about how Boris would see him due to having killed people in self-defense [and later to just get out], and Cup learns more about the machine and the ink illness.
Thing is only one can go home. So Bendy and Cup fight it out, but Cup holds back, while he doesn't want to leave Mugs, he feels like if either of them should get out; it should be Bendy. This image is Cup currently dying as Bendy pushes forward to go home, to see Boris, to get the cure.
This is obviously distressing to Bendy because this is his friend. But only one can go home, there can't be two winners.
He had to watch her shatter. He watched his own sister shatter.
What a pain it must have been.
More art below the line
My Shattered Pieces kiddos will be getting their own blog, because I want to separate them from the regular stuff I draw and give them their own space, but I'm hesitant to post this becahse the Prologue isn't even posted yet. Either way, here's Asier during the shattering, and below is Bal after it :], I need to make her more ghostly.
Yknow. I don't talk about my OC Janice far enough. I love her. She's a shapeshifter made of shadow. Though her form is incredibly unstable on one side due to a mishap so she's a bit spooky.
Additional thoughts on Chapters 151-153 of Inky mystery.
What I had not mentioned as well as my thoughts on the rest of that, is the fight against Ava and Azazel.
Bendy got to use his shadows, which I cannot imagine doesn't end in the worst ink attack known to toon kind. I cannot believe that the shadows cut through the tentacles like that, it creates this intense but beautiful mental image of the pain on both of their faces as Bendy uses his shadows, the things currently that he shouldn't only not be using, but doesn't have a good grasp on, to beat a foe more powerful then he could ever imagine. Cazziels use of runes was expert, may he rest with grace and joy. Felix and Donald both having weapons very quickly on hand was amusing.
On the topic of Donald, I'm not surprised that he was unfazed by the grizzly violence, the man had to experience first hand the atrocities caused by war.
As for Alice, my heart goes out to her, the poor thing was in terrible pain and watching the suffering of those around her must have been horrendous, those are images she will likely never forget..
Back to the fights, Felix and Cup made a good team against Ava, though Cups burn sounded painful as hell itself. The two of them work together cleanly and would make a powerful duo in the future.
Mugs my absolute beloved, you poor thing. Not to say I'm not a fan of Hat mugs, it's very funny to see everyone's reactions to something that absolutely isn't mugs but sure looks like him.
Waiting for the Devil to get here, not exactly thrilled that he's taking his time but hopefully he's able to stand up for at least some of the dark creatures and keep them from the senseless slaughter of the Angels.
Last note, I know Victory is written by the winners but seeing the hell museum was shaking. To hear about the pain and suffering they endured was terrifying and to know that's a constant threat is worse. Azazel, kinda was right. The angels are poised to attack, they see the demons as nothing more than a slip up waiting to happen, and I don't think Bendy was wrong for thinking it through for a moment. Should those angels be harmed? Absolutely not, should the dark creatures not there willingly be held in such dire conditions? No, but his ideology at his base, about the threats angels pose and his anger toward them is not something I scorn him for.
Read chapters 151 through 153 for Inky Mystery, spoilers and thoughts below.
How do yall survive these chapters? I'm enjoying a sweet moment around the crew finally seeing each other again, and then there's ANGEL EXPERIMENTATION, and Cazziel is dead! Like, please, I said I wanted a good day for them and now someone's dead and Mickeys leg was ripped off.
This book is breaking my heart man, I just want to see the silly little guys going on a quest to find silly little parts and now I'm attached and people are hurt.
Not even mentioning Boris betraying the group and then running away from Bendy. I know he's scared but it makes me want to shake him til his head spins.
Then on Bendy. Poor guy died! He died, and of course he's back but that's still insane. Now he's trying to help people and all he's getting is hell from all sides, and his brother won't acknowledge the face he's going to die from this illness, hopefully not, but that's still a major possibility.
I spoke to a few people on this but where I stand and I think it's obvious but, Bendy can live without Boris, he would be heart broken, he would be devastated but he would live on. Boris does not have that same capability. Boris would die if Bendy did, whether he did it himself by starving or running into traffic again. The kid is going to get himself killed if he ever loses Bendy. And that sucks, so hard to me.
I'm glad we got Bendy talking to Boris about starving himself, and then got a conversation about truly accepting him. Bendys right, Boris accepts the good parts of him, but what if he goes rouge, what if he goes beastly and hurts people, will Boris just say that it wasn't him?
I don't have much to say about the Angel torture area besides how disgusting and terrifying it was. It made my stomach churn, props to the writers, I barely survived reading that. And few thoughts to share on Felix and Holly for right now, though I do feel like Holly was absolutely justified to yell at Boris the way she did when they caught up to him. Boris had a chance to turn around in Toon town, he could have turned around when he heard them call his name. He could have turned around BEFORE RUNNING INTO TRAFFIC, but he didn't, and Felix is hurt because of it.
Edit: Thought about the fact that hat got his physical form taken away for helping the cups. I knew the guy had a damn soft spot. Besides the one he had for Bendy. But it's interesting for the Devil being strat to be "turning cup into a bomb", I'm not against it, I'm just thinking about how funny it is to see Cup being thrown toward the devil and the entire place turns into a mushroom cloud.
More thoughts to come as I think of them, but shout out to Haty for suggesting I share out my thoughts about the chapters as I go <3
