šššššĀ had found a section to keep herself occupied at while already on her third shot of the night. adjusting her black shades that covered her dark brown orbs, she held up her phone at an angle to her liking and began to record herself singing along to the song that played in the background.Ā ā all the lord gotta do is give me a record deal right now. iāmma know what to do with that type of money.Ā ā
āMajorette.ā He muttered snapping his finger in disbelief when he was wrong. āThatās was going to be my first guess actually but Iāve been seeing nothing but cheerleaders around here so I went with that.ā The airdrop notification popped up on his screen as soon as he unlocked his sleek device and he wasted no time accepting it. āI got it, thanks. But I mean yea itās straight. I donāt see too many THU students in here but itās a nice vibe. What about you? Take any shots yet?ā
a smiled spread across his face as his ears perked as they caught the tune of his best friendās voice, MARCELLO nodded in agreement to the manās comment on the music. āafter jamaica, Itās just been hectic on campus, and iāve been caught up in the office.ā he muttered exhuastfully as he cuffed his friendās hand, then shook it, before snapped his fingers after releasing it. āwhat about you? howās life been treating you, mane. iāll probably be living under a rock after that recent loss.ā he laughed, his distinctive dimples appearing on his cheeks as he released the joke that he had been considering for a while. he just couldnāt wait to see SHARIFEĀ so he could let it go. āim just jiving though, we got a lot to catch up on.ā
āShit who you tellinā? Police shook down that fuckinā movie night we had.ā Sharife said matching his best friends smile as they moved into the familiar motions of their handshake. It had been a minute since they last seen each other recently but it didnāt matter too much because the way campus had been looking lately he understood why. Ending their handshake with a snap of his fingers as well, he joined in on the laughter haphazardly before schooling his features a second after at the jab. āAh, you got jokes? You been holdinā that in? Fuck you bro.ā He joked shaking his head as he lifted his bottle to his mouth to drink. āYea we do, a lot of shit changed my way I gotta talk to you about. I aināt even on the basketball team anymore.ā Sharife had been waiting to talk to him about dropping off from the basketball team ā wanting his opinion on the matter. It almost felt like a bad decision but he had to make a tough decision.
The male was excited to see what tonight had in store when he stepped into the night lounge. In all honesty, he just wanted to get drunk and two-step all night with his friend. āIs this place closing down or something?ā MARCELLO eyes darted across to the doorman upon hearing his request to pay extra due to his tardiness. there is no denying that he almost turned around after hearing that shit; however, he is doing everything he can to keep this night alive. upon receiving the money, the manās face initially displayed an expression of annoyance before transforming into one of glee. there was definitely a vibe to the music, the atmosphere, and the people, and he couldnāt wait to turn his hoe out. at that moment, the waitress passed by, and he grabbed a few shots, throwing them back with a puckered look due to the strong, bitter taste of the alcohol. āItās alright man, whereās the jodeci? Is it some ginuwine or something?āĀ
āThatās what Iām sayinā. Play some Tevin Campbell or somethinā. The DJ slackinā, I aināt heard a hit yet.ā Sharife stated matter of factor as he approached Marcello, his hand out for their usual handshake. āWhere you been at? Feel like I aināt seen you in a minā bro?ā
šššššĀ had found a section to keep herself occupied at while already on her third shot of the night. adjusting her black shades that covered her dark brown orbs, she held up her phone at an angle to her liking and began to record herself singing along to the song that played in the background.Ā ā all the lord gotta do is give me a record deal right now. iāmma know what to do with that type of money.Ā ā
Sharife sat his bottle down on the table top next to him and offered up a small smile when she laughed. āYou gotta air drop that to me for the gram?ā He patted down his front pockets in search of his phone and fished it out the moment he found it. Sharife listened intently as she talked and tilted his head to the side in slight confusion when she mentioned being more of a dancer. āOh aight. You on the cheerleading team right?ā
Turning away from the rows of bottles after downing two shots of Hennessy and handing over his money, Sharife clutched a bottle of Dāusse by the neck vowing it to be his only other drink for the night. āYou know who DJinā? They gotta play Return of the Mac.ā He questioned the person standing next to him as he leaned back against the bar top; surveying the crowd.
Keeping it as respectful as possible, he watched her down her shots and nodded understandingly at her response. āYou got the stomach showinā, a lil chest action.ā He commented with a smile, his hand moving up to motion to the areas he was mentioning on his own body. His chocolate eyes diverted down to his own attire at her compliment and he made a playful show of wiping down his shirt and lifting his right foot to show off his shoes. āYou see me?ā Sharife started, jumping into a quick pose before he laughed. āNah I āpreciate it thoā. I really just threw some shit on. Howās your day been?ā

Sharife noticed a woman holding up a her phone when he happened to glance off to his side. Instantly assuming she was either recording or taking a picture, he snuck up behind her and bent down so that his frame could be seen in the cameras view. He posed holding up the peace sign whilst downing some of the contents of his bottle. āYou make music?ā He asked as soon as she was finished and sidled up next to her.

Sharife twisted the top off of his drink, glancing to his side when he recognized Selahās voice. āIf you wan-āPreparing to mock her and her teasing tone, his words stopped short right along with the bottle of Dāusse that was halfway to his lips as he took in the sight of her for the first time with an obvious double take. His head shifted back slightly and he smiled lowering the bottle back down at his side. āWho you come out here dressed like that for?ā The male said admiring her appearance from head to toe moving his other hand to rest his stomach in his slanted position. āYou look good tho.ā

āIf you just cooperate, we can get you out of here in the next hour!ā The male detective promised, hoping to get some sort of confession or answers out of Sharife. Unlucky for him, while Sharife genuinely didn't have a single clue on what happened to Trinity's Fallen Five, he was also well versed in his rights and besides, he quickly noted the clear deception apparent in the detectives voice when he spoke.
Slowly, his chestnut brown eyes flitted up from the vans he adorned on his feet - thankful he hadnāt worn a pair of Air Jordans like he originally planned - to the detectives that sat in front of him. They bounced casually between the white male and an hispanic woman that were attempting to question him - if you could even call it that considering they weren't successful in getting anything out of him aside from growing aggravation.
āWe just want to know what happened to five of your classmates?ā The woman tried this time, her words kind and soft as she dropped her interlocked hands on top of the table. And this time when his irises shifted in her direction, they stayed there for a moment, noticing just how objectively attractive she was in a George Lopez Tv Show Wife kind of way.
But when the novelty wore off, he let out a sigh and stretched out the length of his legs in front of him while he rolled his neck in an effort combat the stiffness he was starting to feel. āCan I get some water or somethinā?ā Had been the first and only words he uttered since being led from the back of the police car to this interrogation room.
āFive of your friends are either dead or missing and you donāt seem to care?!ā The man detective took to yelling clearly over his good cop routine as he slammed his hand down on the hard table.
Still unperturbed, Sharife watched the action and chuckled, shrugging his shoulders. āIām sorry for them and their families. Honestly. But I donāt even know who those people are. So they aren't my friendsā He replied tired of this whole dumb ass situation himself, āIf Iām being arrested, I want my lawyer and the charges you filing against me. If not, take these fuckinā cuffs off of me and let me get my ass home!ā He answered with finality in his tone and a pensive stare shooting in their direction as he slouched back in his chair, lowering his cuffed hands to rest comfortably in his lap; mumbling incoherently under his breath about how maybe his mama was fucking right.
Deep in conversation, Sharife's brow furrowed at the obnoxiously loud chants that were being yelled over the movie and chatter that was going on around him. The male paused mid sentence when he looked up to gauge the disturbance, noticing instantly that the movie had been paused and a crowd of people were starting to make their way onto the field. "Yo, what the fuck is goin' on?" He called out in clear frustration at the fact that their movie night was being sabotaged by protestors.
Immediately his hands went in the air when a pair of police officers started to approach him which in turn caused him to slowly stand to his feet ready to defend himself if he needed to. "Why yall out here fuckin' wit us? We aint doin' shit but watchin' a fuckin' movie." He spat out in irritation snatching his wrist out of one of the officers reach when he went for a grab and instead pointed behind him at the protestors. "Man we mindin' our fuckin' business on our campus and they out here trespassing, disturbing the fuckin' peace but we the ones yall fuckin with? That's crazy." He hissed out ignoring every word the officers said to him. He kissed his teeth when an unsuspecting officer stepped up behind him and grabbed for his wrists; cuffing him. A dry chuckle fell from his mouth and he nodded his head.
ā the plot and storyline was⦠okay. if i can remember correctly. ā AVERY flashed a look of confusion as she tried to recount the movieās plot. she shook her head before looking down at the bag by his feet.Ā ā whatās in there ? ā she questioned with curiosity. shifting her focus back to his question, she shook her head once more to physically respond to his question before she did verbally.Ā ā noo, i just like commenting on the stuff i donāt like in the movie, hm ! āĀ
"Just okay? I thought it was actually pretty good. But I can see where you coming from. I just think if we can let movies like stomp the yard, you got served and what not get they shine. So can Drumline." He replied offering his thoughts on the whole situation even though he could understand and appreciate where she was coming from. He would definitely still consider it one of his faves and a classic. Sharife's eyes shifted back down to his bag at her question before picking it up. "Hot wings and Garlic Parm wings. You want some?" The male asked moving his hand to hold out the box towards her. "I haven't ate any of them yet." He added showing her the unopened box. While he waited for her to decide, he let out a small chuckle at the way she shook her head before humming in sarcastic agreement at her words. "Yea so you are one of them? What's your favorite movie?" He questioned before his attention was pulled away by the protestors.
ā Ā i just think the opportunity canāt be missed! Ā āĀ SHAI chuckled under her breath, her shoulders shrugging which accompanied the smug grin she wore on her face.Ā ā Ā it would definitely be good for a whodunit type of activity. i donāt know, i might have to write that down for spooky season. Ā āĀ she reasoned with him. while it might not have been the best idea to divulge in while they were all sitting outside in the dark, it did make her mind wander and she wondered if anyone had the same train of thought she was having.Ā ā Ā well! are you quick on your feet? thatās what itās gonna come down to. your legs are pretty long, so iāll feel like youāll make it quickly. but also⦠what you running for? Ā āĀ only one of her eyebrows raised as she tilted her head down to side-eye sharife.Ā ā Ā youāre supposed to be out here protecting us! Ā āĀ already knowing, she jokingly shook her head slowly in disapproval.
āLike a murder mystery type of whodunnit? āCause that could be a dope ass activity for Halloween if itās planned out right.ā Sharife agreed offhandedly, coming up with a few different ideas of his own in his head. āI mean I feel like Iām pretty quick. I play wide receiver and the point is to run fast.ā He said through a shrug, a grin spreading across his face when she began to side eye him. His tongue danced over his lips as he tried to stifle his laughter but he failed miserably and lifted his hands to point towards his car. āI mean I aināt gone leave you behind since you right next to me. But you gotta be able to keep up and make it to the car with me. First sign of danger you gotta be quick, jump on my back or something.ā
upon plopping down onto his blanket, the tall, fit man consumed a few pieces of popcorn. MARCELLO wasn't a guy who liked watching movies without some sort of 'chilling' involved, but he was determined to escape his hectic work life after the vandalism incident; lucky for him, they were playing a movie he truly enjoyed. " this movie really set some unrealistic expectations on how I thought my college experience was going to be like (!) " a low, deep crackle slipped from his lips as he jested to the individual beside him. " like it really had me thinking 'if this nigga was pulling in the band, i know i could be pulling on a regular' type shit (!) "
āZoĆ« was fine as fuck. I aspired to be like that nigga. But this movie made me want to play the drums. I think I joined band right after I saw this shit. I was pretty good but I couldnāt do band and football, so I had to quit.ā Sharife set his food down at his side and spread his blanket out over his lap.
