Vanessa hadn’t gone into town with the explicit purpose of tailing Shank to the Castle Café, but after spotting her at a distance and realising that she hadn’t seen her for a while, she had made the decision to tail her all the way to the café. Man, she was getting really good at this whole sneaking around and silently watching people thing. Oliver would be proud.
Of course, she had no nefarious purposes for following Sharna, she simply wanted to say hi. And maybe tell her that she was planning on actually getting her driver’s licence soon (being scolded by a stranger for not having one might have escalated her plans slightly) and ask if she wanted to help. She would have asked Sven, but he had a tendency to take the whole dad thing a little too seriously at times, and she was still a little too intimidated by Cruz to ask her to help with something like that. “Hi!” Vanessa greeted brightly, tilting her head to the side. “What do you mean by ‘dress to impress your own family’?”
She didn’t want to disappoint one more person in her life and she couldn’t tell Vanessa, that she was in jail, convicted of a few really bad things and then how she basically sold herself out to Hayden to get the charges dropped. Not to mention her family practically disowning her for her jail time, and her life of just wrongdoings in the name of speed.
“Oh well my mother she’s very hard to please when it comes to appearances, I usually am the black sheep at family events because I usually have some sort of grease stain on my clothes”
Not a total lie, but not the whole truth.
