comfort shows and bullshit

so.

my comfort show/favorite show is Wednesday. it’s my favorite thing to rewatch, it always brightens my day, and it feeds the demons who desire violence and yuri nonsense. now, i KNOW that it’s pretty queerbait coded, and there are some parts that needed improvement (as is true for most things), but do i care? no.

but you know what drives me bonkers? WHEN PEOPLE SEE THAT I LIKE WENDESDAY AND THEY START SHITTING ALL OVER ME AND THE SHOW

like, as soon as i even imply that i like it, I’ll get people losing their minds and throwing hissy fits about how much THEY didn’t like it and how bad THEY thought it was. during this rant they’re going on, all that i can think of is:

here’s another concept for those folks: IF YOU DONT LIKE IT, YOU DONT HAVE TO WATCH IT! ITS SO EASY TO FIND SOMETHING ELSE!

in all seriousness, there’s nothing wrong with not liking something, whether it be a good, a show, a person, whatever. you’re not forced to like anything and if you find something you dislike, that’s perfectly okay and there’s nothing wrong with that. what IS wrong is making someone feel bad for liking something that you don’t like, because that’s rude and incredibly disrespectful. try having a conversation, but if that’s too hard, just move on. there are other things more worth your time than ruining someone’s day.
