sorry to bother, but have the audition tapes only been shown to certain individuals (such as the anon and yourself)? i, as well i'm sure others, would love to see the auditons too to judge and see what the buzz is about!
i was sent that chloe one and searched on vimeo and saw another. otherwise i’ve seen no others. tbh they’re like 45 seconds short from the two i’ve seen and don’t really give you anything worth watching. i can find links if you come to me off anon.

I'm surprised you thought that Chloe girls audition was weak. Though I do not know if she is right for the part out of all the auditions I saw hers was one of the the best. Except for one 17 year old girl that was good. Amma needs to be played by someone that is/looks around the age 14/15 but is kinda taller in my opinion. Some of the 13 year olds I saw auditioning for the part just looked way too young and their acting was not the best. When do you think they will announce the cast?
i’m an actor, a writer and a director who has done a lot of casting. i’ve been in the business for a long time. i know when there is good acting and that wasn’t it. at this point age is important to me and good acting. i really could care less what she looks like. there are a lot of talented 13 year olds look at stranger things, they auditioned like 900 kids and that was for a netflix show that had new directors compare that to a show w/ an award winning actress, writer and bleh director soo… no excuse. i think they’ll announce it when they announce it, i dunno. maybe soon maybe not?

Casting for Amma is done and they only looked at girls from 13 to 17
not happy about it going up to 17 but it’s what i expected. are you here to give me this update or do you have news regarding who got picked? it’s appreciated either way

How would you feel about Chloe lukasiak as amma?
well i thought the audition tape i saw was incredibly weak so... ya, it’s a no from me. though there has been some weird stuff surrounding this actress as amma w/ our messages so it makes me wonder if she did get it i dunno but i do know i’d really love it if people for the moment stopped sending in casting asks like the askbox title asks and waits until news is released because at this point it’s kinda... boring. sorry.

How do you feel about Naomi Watts as Adora?
Too young to be cast as Amy Adams mother, potentially if they had cast Camille accurately. But impossible now.

What about dove Cameron to play Amma? She is fairly known( I know you want someone that is not that known)... she is older but looks very young.
nah, and here’s why. because she may look young but when dove was 13 she did not look the same way she does at 20. for this book, age matters and they already screwed it up so.

hey! I just started following your blog, I finished Sharp Objects like two weeks ago and I'm still in love with it, Amma is one of the best characters that I've come across so far, she's just so evil and complex and somehow human, I just thought it was cool that you had a blog about this book! I have a question, who do you think would be the right actress to play Amma?
thanks for the ask! we’re so glad you like the blog and esp more so the book/amma.
the right actress for me is someone who is age appropriate--meaning she actually looks/is 13--and someone who is mostly, or just plain is, unknown. i don’t care what she looks like as long as she can act.

This book has scarred me. :):):):)
In a good way though, right? In the worst good way.

Yeah I really dislike the direction the miniseries is going in
i’m not about any of it atm, there were a few interesting additions in the pilot script that i read and im glad gillian is adding it in but tbh
the director is an asshole, the casting is a mess…. it’s just not what i hoped for and depending on who they cast and how many episodes flynn writes i dunno

Aaron Paul would be great as Richard
lol sure i mean tbh i don’t care about any of the male castings besides john keene and maybe curry

How about Nicole Kidman for Adora?
She could do it 100% I’m such a Nicole Kidman fan I swear I’ve been obsessed with her since I was a kid but unfortunately w/ Amy Adams as Camille lbr they’re only 7 years apart, that’s not mother/daughter that’s sisters or maybe niece/aunt at the most. They kinda screwed us w/ the Camille casting in so many ways.

Who would be your dream choice to play Adora? I think Gillian Anderson would nail the role, I know she's a popular choice but she's the only one I could picture when reading the books. I like Jessica Lange for the role too but she's not the right age :/
I mean I’ve always loved Michelle Pfeiffer, I think she’s an out of the box choice. She’s a little old if they had properly cast Camille as 32 but they didn’t so she works ahaha.

Have you seen some of the auditions for Amma online
We got sent one and Bru found the audition slides that they read from so we’ve seen part of the script. But I’ve been too busy to actively look for auditions. Where have you been finding them?

Just finished reading all of Gillian Flynn’s books, here’s a scribble of the leading ladies of each.
“There’s something disturbing about recalling a warm memory and feeling utterly cold.”
