“ agreed. yeah, it’s nice. but you know what they say about nice things... they don’t last long. or at least, my experience. ” shayera is friendly with her, of course. though there’s a certain level of shame that’s guarded behind harsh words when around anyone in the league. “ yeah well, i figured bruce’s panties would be in a twist and clark would need his cape pulled out from his ass. so i thought i’d stop by. ”

KYLE KNOWS THAT SHAYERA wasn’t with the League anymore, but that doesn’t mean that they can’t be friends right? He’s glad to see her as he always is with other teammates old or new. “It’s good to see you too, Shayera. There’s a bunch of us here actually. Bruce, Diana, Clark, Barry, Hal, and Guy are here too to name a few.”

kyle was always so.... nice. refreshing, sure. shayera needed nice people in her life. but she knew she wasn’t a favorite of the lanterns. especially when she knocked four of them out single-handly. “ oh, great. ” sarcasm isn’t hidden. “ well i’m sure they’re all happy rainbows right now. how are you doing, though? ”

Kara can’t help but grin in response, amused by the girl’s response. “Kara!” she answers, holding out her hand. “And you are…?”

leaning forward slightly she meets her, hand finding hers, and giving a soft shake. she releases the hold quickly, a dip of greeting offered. the girl seemed happy. peppy. she supposed that was good. “ well hey there, sunshine. ” shayera smirks slightly, dimples appearing. “ shayera. hawk girl. the myth. the legend. the wings get around, you know. ”

‘ DEFINITELY, i mean i’d assume that it’s a lot easy to get to places when somebody needs help without having to dodge your way through all the traffic. not that i’d know, personally.’

    “ air traffic was--- is the worst. for a girl with wings, at least. ” smile is friendly as she turns her attention towards her now younger companion. “ oh come on, ” she teases, eyeing him up and down with playfulness as arms fold over her chest easily. “ no jetpack or cool levitation to get you around, kid? ”

“Does it really make that much difference? I mean, I’ve been into the city and it’s still pretty polluted there.”

    “ uh, yeah. ” emphasis on the yeah. “ i guess you’d have to fly everyday up there to tell. in the future, i mean. i wasn’t choking on smog coming in from the city to get here which was nice. not near as much as it will be polluted. ” she confesses, shayera offering a smile between fast paced words, dimples appearing.

   “ how unconventional. ” or more so for shayera, how unnatural. but not everyone was born with wings and grew up flying as she had. “ yeah, that’d be pretty shitty if the windows were opened. then i’d have to come save everyone. ” cockiness is laced into words, of course. “ it is. but not all glorious. do you know how many bugs i’ve swallowed? ”

                        “  yes, but the fanatics outside of the mansion gates protesting our existance all sort of make it less worth the trip.  ”

“ i can only agree. but i find myself flying over them, time and time again. that doesn’t make them the least bit happy but i don’t care--- also it’s fun to watch them squirm. though i get not everyone has cool wings to fly over people. ” there’s a friendliness within the redheads tone, eyes are kind. “ no worries though, this shitshow is over in the future. ”

    “i can certainly see why that would be appreciated. though, it’s a bit disappointing to hear that people are so careless with polluting the earth. to be expected, i suppose. i haven’t heard the best things concerning the future.”

   once his words are spoken, thoughts pull together to recognize this is a man from the past. well, her past. his present. “ this planet isn’t in the best shape in the future, no. however it isn’t in the worst either. ” shoulders lift in a idle shrug, vast wings moving with her within the movement. “ i’ve gotten around and this planet still has greenery. trees. water. on other planets-- that’s a scarce resource. ”

there’s a sense of hesitation about shayera, especially given kyle is a piece of something she used to belong to. a small smile after his words before lifting her head, eyes more serious. “ yeah... ” her words are quiet, not holding the usual roughness. “ it’s good to see you kyle. the rest of the league, are they here? ”

          “uh —” kate stammered as she tried not to draw attention to the numerous burn marks she’d left on the table before her. given the shift in time and the fact that she had only brought so many trick arrows with her, she’d had to get a little creative. unfortunately, that creativity seemed to come with quite a few fire hazards. “in my defense, they really shouldn’t make these tables so flammable.” 

“ FIRE’S fun, as long as you aren’t getting burned. ” shayera muses easily, smirk coming out to play. she eyes the table curiously. with interest. always ready to gain a new skill or fact need be. “ it’s just a table, sweetheart. try again. ” she encourages.

“ I’LL be honest, the best part of 1973 so far is the air quality. do you know how nice it is to fly around without choking on smog ?? also the lack of air traffic is nice. more flying, less dodging. ”
