Delilah pursed her lips together and cautiously walked through the auction house, pausing as the guards instructed at the entrance to the cells. The 'slaves' had just finished their exercise for the morning and were being escorted back to their cells. They allowed the students to proceed just as the last of the 'slaves' were entering their temporary accommodations, though apparently one of them wasn't moving fast enough for the guards. She inhaled sharply as the guard shoved roughly at their back, making them stumble. "Hey!" Without thinking, she rushed forward just as the door clanged shut. "Are you okay? Did they hurt you?" she asked of the person who had been shoved, her blue eyes wide with concern.

Shaylee generally wasn't one to drag, though her energy since arriving at the Auction House was all but depleted. The grueling activities they were put through throughout the day were enough to leave anyone exhausted, but coupled with the fact that they weren't being given enough calories to replace what was being taken...Needless to say, things weren't going smoothly. Still, the Domme worked to keep her composure, and to remain as strong as she could. She hadn't realized she'd slowed as much as she had, and the truth was that her eyes had been scanning the crowd for Kyla, her gut telling her the other would need some support. When she felt herself being shoved the Domme turned indignantly, nearly forgetting herself in her rush to demand an apology. Biting her tongue, Shaylee stopped short of speaking and instead turned to move just that much faster. She hadn't been expecting anyone to come to her defense, but the realization that someone had spoken up caught her attention. "I'm good." She replied when the other approached, offering a weak yet genuine smile. "I'm much tougher than that, no worries. Thank you though, really. Most wouldn't have spoken up. What's your name?"

Cells - Open

As the days seemed to stretch longer and longer, Nate was finding it harder to keep his cool. He was chilled, hungry, humiliated - all the things that had proven to make him absolutely intolerable. The craving was there, heavier and more dire than it had been since he'd gotten clean and it was all he could think about. His only saving grace was he didn't have access and he was grateful for that. He took a deep breathe, looking over at the others in the cell, and those around them. "Everyone alright?" he asked stupidly, "Well, as alright as we're gonna be right now."

Despite her confidence going into the trip, Shay couldn't deny that even she hadn't been fully prepared to take on the situation she'd been placed in. The Domme had done well at maintaining her outward composure, though that didn't do much for the mess she'd devolved into on the inside. She'd kept to herself, understanding that there was no point in complaining, as she wasn't close to the only one suffering- another fact that hadn't escaped her. No matter her personal feelings on those surrounding her, ultimately the fact that they were all human beings, having a terrible common experience won over anything else that might have lingered. So, when Nate had spoken up, she did her best to keep the usual quip from her voice. "Yeah. What you said. As alright as I can be right now. And you?"

Kurt grabbed his small plate of salad and protein shake and headed to the nearest seat against the wall that was there to eat it. The cold air filled the place, despite all the warmth coming from all the nakes bodies wandering around. He smiled softly at some of the people who walked past him, all of them familiar faces by now, only at that moment they had all just been reduced to walking pieces of meat.

The sound of someone sitting closer pulled him out of his thoughts, and he chuckled before taking a small sip of his shake. "Do you think it'd be too bold to ask if this shake has splenda or regular sugar in it? The possible damage on the hips could be something of importance, you know?" he said after putting the container down. Some bad jokes never hurt to try make time go faster.

It wasn't as though Shaylee had believed the trip would be an easy one- in fact, she had spent her week attempting to prep herself mentally, physically, and spiritually. Regardless of the intent, the last thing the Domme would do was allow this...Excursion to break her. By the time things were as close to settled as they could've been and a meal opportunity arrived, Shay felt more than ready to take on the rest of the task. If nothing else, she had to be strong for those she knew would be far more affected than herself- Sky, Kyla, Wren, and even Sam.

Scanning the area, Shay recognized Kurt sitting against a nearby wall, and she turned immediately on her heel, heading in his direction. "Fancy meeting you here." She said with a wry laugh before lowering herself down next to her cellmate. When his comment landed the Domme couldn't help but to smile. "Too bold? Probably. But, does that mean it wouldn't be funny as hell? No, it doesn't." Uncapping her own shake she nodded, taking a sip. "Right, right. Keeping these figures are priority one for this whole time." She teased. "Really though, are you holding up okay?"

PM from Kurt: Hello ms Shay! It appears we're meant to be cell buddies. I apologize, that's a terrible joke.

PM: Hello there, Kurt! I've seen you around, of course I've meant to reach out to you but, you know how these things go I'm sure. Regardless, I appreciate you reaching out.

PM: No need to apologize, I definitely chuckled. But yes, it appears you are correct. How are you feeling about this whole thing?

I wish you didn't have to go on the field trip. Are you scared?

DM: Hey, Sky :) ! Thanks for checking in, it means a lot to me. I've been meaning to reach out to you, things have just been insane, getting used to the new schedule, meeting so many people, the Masquerade, and now this. They certainly like to keep you on your toes here, don't they?

DM: It's okay, don't you worry. I'll be alright, it's all going to be fine. I'm not scared, no. You know me, I'm a tougher cookie than that. I don't want you worried for me either, alright?

PM: It felt wrong getting that information and immediately not going to ask how you felt. I don't like that you've been through worse but that does make me feel better about your time in there. Honestly I'm a bit sick to my stomach. Since I'm just viewing from the outside I just feel like seeing you in that cell will freak me out...if that were to actually happen to you or anyone else over not getting a claim. I understand the laws it's just a lot. — Wait, you do? And I have?

PM: You're sweet, Wren. I like that. Now the question begs- are you okay? I know you said you're sick to your stomach, and worried about what you're going to see. Is there anything else you'd like to talk about? Anything else you're feeling that you want to share? I want you to know I'll be okay, doll. I'm tougher than all that. I'm sure there's a lesson to be learned somewhere but...That's secondary to me. The goal is getting through it. I'll reflect on the rest later. It is a lot, you're right. But...All the more reason to get serious about finding a Claim. You're funny. I do, and you have. More than you realize I'm sure.

PM: Is that really so surprising?

DM: Hello there, gorgeous. I think I'll be alright, yes. I'm not worried for myself in the slightest. You, on the other hand...How are you feeling sweet girl? Be honest with me.

PM: Look at you, sweet girl. Thank you for checking in, don't think I don't see you. I'm alright. I'm not exactly thrilled as I'm sure you can imagine but...I've been through worse. I'll survive, we all will. How are you feeling about things? Talk to me, gorgeous. Is that so? I'm glad to hear that, because I care a lot about you, Wren. You've been on my mind, believe that.

Wren couldn't help but let out a light laugh as Shay commented on her ability to uphold everything they had talked about previously. Her eyes were tracing the woman's body taking it all in as she had never had the chance to previously. Taking note of her blush, Wren wished that she could frame that image and keep it in her pocket every day. "I plan to, beautiful," she replied with a bit of confidence only becoming shy when she was called cute. "Thank you," Wren smiled wishing that she could cover her face from the red flush of her cheeks.

Keeping her fingers intertwined with the Domme's as she led them both further into the room, she sighed sweetly as the hair was brushed behind her ear so tenderly. She, of course, was still going to be nervous but she could at least relax a bit knowing how safe she felt. "A drink would be wonderful actually," she admitted knowing it would help her nerves, "A vodka tonic maybe?" She asked the other as she took a seat on the couch in the room. Her legs crossed and hands placed neatly on her thighs as she kept her eyes completely trained on the other.

Though she didn't call attention to it, Shay took note of the way Wren's eyes drank her in, something she both reveled and felt comfortable in. The Domme hadn't always been comfortable in her own skin, but since her self-image had shifted and her confidence had grown, knowing she was being checked out had become something she welcomed. And, coming from someone like Wren...There was no denying the increase in her heartbeat at the thought. Another compliment landed and Shay found herself fully smiling, something she didn't often do outside of cheerleading. But, the combination of Wren's presence, her compliments, and how utterly adorable the Switch was when the compliments were returned left the Domme unable to stop herself.

It was obvious that Wren was beginning to relax, something Shaylee appreciated on numerous levels. Of course she wouldn't ever do anything the other was uncomfortable with, but knowing that the fact seemed to be something Wren also trusted settled a part of Shay she was virtually unable to describe. Nodding, the Domme turned to make her way towards her cabinets, pulling two glasses out before bustling about to collect the rest of the ingredients. Feeling Wren's eyes trained on her, she added a bit of an extra sway to her hips as she stepped, ensuring she bent over at just the right angles to retrieve the vodka itself. Once the drinks were done, Shay walked them into the living area, handing one glass to the other before settling in next to her. Taking a sip of her own drink, she gave the comfortable silence a few moments before speaking. "Before we go any further, gorgeous, I'll need your limits- hard and soft- and your safe word."

Kyla couldn’t help but wonder why someone who wasn’t obligated to was caring for her. She supposed she would do the same for anyone, but she was a submissive so that would be totally different. Right? She knew was a little screwed up when it came to the rigidity of labels curtesy of her upbringing, but she also knew from experience to be weary of someone who so badly was willing to be in her life. All that said, her head was actually not the problem here. Once again, it was her heart that wanted things and was too weak to listen to reason. Against her better judgment, she was very much into what Shay was offering up, finally smiling a little into the kiss. “Maybe I could spend the night with you tonight? I always have Bella’s food set on a timer in case I get orders at any time, so she’ll be okay.” Bella sniffed Shay’s hand snd immediately nuzzled up against it, taking to her quite quickly.

Sensing the energy of others had long been a gift Shay had possessed, and one that had only developed over the years as she tuned in and honed it. So, it didn't take much for her to realize the slight shift in Kyla's energy. Filing the knowledge away Shay nodded. When the other smiled into the kiss Shay couldn't help but to do the same, mirroring the energy she was given. Leaning back, she wrapped an arm around Kyla's waist, arching an eyebrow playfully at the suggestion. "Spend the night tonight, hmm?" Despite her intent to tease the other a bit, the Domme quickly gave in, chuckling before nodding once more. "I think that can be arranged. Look at you, so prepared. I like that. Don't think I'm not taking note." With a wink, Shay stooped to rub her palm over Bella's head. "Honestly, I wouldn't be mad if you wanted to bring her. Whatever you think is best. Why don't you get an overnight bag together, sweet girl, and then we can go." Leaning in once more, Shay pressed her lips to Kyla's again, though this time a little more passionately, allowing her hands to roam over the others body. "I don't know how much longer I can wait." She whispered before taking a step back.

That's exactly why there's need for thanks, and I appreciate it. Don't worry about it, it was the right question to ask. Especially with me teahing a subject that people tend to think should be taught by Doms. No apologies needed! I wasn't clear. In reference to you. What do you prefer, as a title? I see what you did there, I won't argue. It's just...Disheartening that thanking people for their decency has become commonplace. We shouldn't have to do that. “I did have fun at the masquerade too,” Kyla admitted, trying to cheer herself up. She wasn’t sure if she was really ready to be cheered up, but it beat being sad and annoyed and angry. “I just don’t know if I’ll ever be able to sleep again. There’d be too much on my mind.” She took Shay’s hand in her own, still wanting to have some comfort even though she wished she wanted to move on. “Can we do fun things now? Being close to you and not touching or being touched is driving me a little crazy.” As if sensing Kyla was going to leave, a black and white dog trotted up to them. “Oh, sorry. Bella, Shay. Shay, Bella.”

Seeing Kyla attempting to be positive when it was obvious she didn't feel anywhere near positive left a pang in Shay's heart she couldn't quite pinpoint. Still, she forced a smile and nodded, glad that the other was at least trying to make the best of the situation. "Mmm, I don't like that. That's the last thing you need, sweet girl. Sleep is important, and you'll eventually get sick without it. We'll work on it, okay? If need be, you're more than welcome to stay with me when you think you'll have trouble. I'll be there, I'll make sure you're taken care of." Lacing her fingers through Kyla's, Shay rubbed the pad of her thumb over the back of the submissive's hand gently, doing her best to continue to soothe. "Of course we can. After all, that is what I'm here for, isn't it?" Kyla's admission was sweet, and without thinking Shay brought her free hand up to cup the back of the others head gently, drawing her closer until their lips had pressed slowly together, the Domme working to ensure it was both sweet and passionate. "Well," She began once they'd drifted slowly apart. "I wouldn't want you going insane, not at all." Smiling, she began to turn before she noticed the patter of small, paw-like feet. Glancing down, Shay immediately beamed at the adorable dog standing in Kyla's room. "Hi there Bella!" Shay cooed, extending a hand for the dog to sniff. "She is gorgeous, Kyla!"

Text: Yeah, not gonna lie, I got a little worried about the whole masquerade now that you're here. Sky was never interested in...masquerade things, so I figured I'd better be safe and stick with the guys while masks are on.

Text: No, it's good. I'm just getting a little Evansy about it, I guess. I could talk to Hunter, Violet or Owen and they'd be great, but they don't get the money thing like we do. The business in town is really coming together, and its nearly time to buy the slaves, but every time I look at the auction website, all I can think is one of these slaves is enough to buy a house. Or at least a down payment on one, and I get all up in my head about making gigantic purchases. What if we end up on the streets again?

Plus you're around, I just don't know how much you can do since you're graduated. So I'm beginning to notice. Well...On the bright side, I think that's just 'college' in general for most people. But, you made it. You're on the other side. You're in your happy now.

TEXT: You're not wrong, I hadn't thought about it like that. It's the truth though, and explains quite a bit. That's a positive at the very least. I...Yes, I do. I mean like I said, it's early AF, I'm in no rush but....If someone twisted my arm and said they needed to know who I've got my eye on at this stage, it would be Kyla. Well, her and Wren Hummel.

At least that's one less I'll have to worry about but...Yeahhhhh...For the forseeable future you and I should just...Stick to same sex and same gender encounters. Just to be safe, like you said. It's...Something I sadly have a feeling all of us will carry with us until the day we die. We've seen and been through too much. But, you can't let yourself live in that fear. And...I mean, at the end of the day, it doesn't matter who you are. Anyone could lose anything at any time. Fuck, the Claringtons could wake up tomorrow and have nothing. It's possible. That's why you can't live in the world of what-ifs. I know that's tough as hell. It took me a shitton of hard wor and hundreds of billable therapy hours to get there myself. But it's the truth. That's why two things are important- one, realizing that nothing is guaranteed, so while you can prepare all you want, nothing will ever be solid. All you can do is make the best choices you can in the moment. The second important thing is making sure you're picking people to be in your life who would still be there if that were to happen.

TEXT: Don't let your fear rule you, Sammy. You've done so fucking well for yourself. I'm proud of you. More than I can say. And I believe in you enough to know you wouldn't let that happen. Not to you, not to Owen, not to Violet, and not to whomever else you choose to bring in. Don't let your intangible fear screw you out of tangible happiness. If it makes you feel better, make a budget plan to replace what you spend as immediately as possible. Seeing how quickly you'll be able to get back to steady should help. And, by the way...I hope you know, if it came down to it, I'd do everything in my power to make sure you'll never be in that situation. TEXT: Speaking of those connections...It's too early to say much of anything, but I have to admit I'm beginning to wonder if our family doesn't have some sort of...I don't know, cosmic pact with the Claringtons. Between you and Hunter and Sky and Hunter....And, I've been spending a good amount of time with Kyla Clarington. Have you interacted with her much?
