maybe im just being an annoying fandom elder or whatever much as i loathe that term but i really think you haven’t Experienced fate unless you’ve played fate/stay night I really really really think that in order to understand any or all of fate you need to have played the visual novel. literally everything in fate ends up referring back to stay night all of fate up to and including grand order builds on the emotional core of stay night all of it keeps coming back again and again to “the embodiment of all the world’s evils was a victim and the key to saving the world is making a healthy and nutritious meal for your loved ones”. nothing after stay night has ever reached quite the same level of emotional rawness. read fate/stay night.
