See. I swear I smiled at #wastelandweekend. Looking through the incredibly sparse pictures of me I look down right miserable which really bums me out considering it was brought to my attention that people thought I had a bad time. Quite the opposite. I unfortunately am really bad at doing things for the first time. No matter how happy I am my anxiety and awkwardness prevents me from interacting with people to the best of my ability. Couple that with my face's natural resting state of "tight lipped frown" and it ends in the wrong message coming across. In truth I didn't ever want to leave the desert or California and have never loved a community of people as a whole so much. It makes me that much more impatient to go back, to shake off that first year funk and explore the wastes and its inhabitants that much more. Between the heat and anxiety, I ended up in camp for the majority of the days. My phone also lived in my tent and didn't come out. That being said there are almost no pictures of me in my gear which I'm pretty bummed about. Hopefully some more will surface from all the roving photographers.
