Week 52: Thank You!
Ansel Adams famously said, âYou donât take a photograph, you make it.â My new yearâs resolution for 2015 was to awake my creative side and re-ignite my love of photography. Project 52 was a way for me to showcase how I intended to achieve this goal.Â
This year, I played a LOT with macro techniques (week 7, week 20, week 27, week 37, week 47, week 48, week 49, and week 50). I find the close-up world incredibly fascinating. The idea of seeing everyday items from the point of view of a worm sounds so cool!Â
Travel photography was also a big part of 2015. At the end of January, my brother and I visited Disneyland, Universal Studios, and Conan. This particular adventure was fantastic and I appreciate how well the two of us get along. The two of us are very collaborative and know when to push each other in a positive direction. In June, my family and I ventured over to the Philippines (week 23Â and week 24)Â to take part in my cousinâs wedding. Reconnecting with my relatives and to my ancestral roots was an important part of this trip and I enjoyed my time there. September brought me back to California to celebrate my nieceâs seventh birthday. Again, we spent a load of time in Disneyland (week 39Â and week 40) and had another opportunity to be a kid.Â
Abstract photography was another skill I tried this year. I took note of how a subjectâs appearance changed when seen in the reflection of water (week 21Â and week 43). I also played around with light and shutter speed (week 51).
Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who checked out my photographic journey. I feel humbled by your likes, re-blogs, and comments. I still have a lot of learning to do, but until next time, see you later!
