When I was younger I had something I called a ‘thought tic’. A phrase I would say in my head intrusively.

The phrase would pop into my head whenever I was ashamed. Either at the moment or if I was remembering it. My brain would say”What do you want from me, I’m 12?” even after being much older than 12.

Over time, and through therapy, my mental health improved and along with it my brain stopped that tic.

Lately though, a new one has popped up and it has me a bit concerned.

“I don’t like you anymore” keeps popping into my head. Sometimes over and over at night.

Going to talk to my therapist about it of course. Until then I’m going to pay very close attention to what may cause it.
