"Eh, you’ll figure it out. Definitely work Thunder Wave in. She could even use it on her own body thanks to Shed Skin," Shepard advised, concluding that absolutely any of Dratini’s moves could be combined with the status-inflicter. Easy. "Practice makes perfect, so you gotta practice practice practice. It sounds boring, but work in a little target practice and things even out," the Blackthornian explained, unhooking a capsule from the back of his belt.
He combed the area around them and dredged up a fairly solid stick, and with a burst of light he released Cyndaquil. “Example. Cyndaquil, hit this target with your Ember,” he ordered, flinging the stick into the air. The fire echidna squealed and shot a series of red-hot tangerine embers into the sky, reducing the stick to ash. “Cyndaquil has some shitty ass vision. We practised. Now his sight ain’t so shitty. Get me?”
"Yeah, I get’cha." Coebalt replies, looking to his Dratini. "Alright Aquos, this Thunder Wrap will give us a huge advantage if we can get it down! " He says with determination, the she dragon squeaking in agreement.
Over the course of the next few hours, Coebalt worked with Dratini, Thunder Wrap had finally started coming together, to the point where he was confident he could start using it in a battle. So, he withdrew the dragon, chosing to work with Gastly next, He’d also take out his Kadabra.
"Alright Gastly, Your hypnosis is your greatest asset." He begins, stroking the pokemon’s solid’ish head. He’d then move to Kadabra patting it similarly. "Kadabra here, though, is a tough Psychic pokemon.Kadabra is going to put all of his effort and psychic ability into resisting your Hypnosis, and your job is to get it to work! I know you can do it so let’s get started!" The trainer says, encouraging his gasious creature on.
"Incorrect. Kadabra is a glass cannon - he can deal pretty savage damage, yeah, but he can't take a physical hit. My Scyther would shred him," Shepard answered dryly, unwilling to let Coebalt convince himself that he was powerful - he did not mean it in a cruel strain, though it could easily be seen as so. It was Shepard's genuine intention that Coebalt retained his very best judgement and that, when the going got tough, he could get going.
As his friend's Pokémon trained for hours, the two humans exchanged a little banter, kept things light, but got work done. Nidorina soon returned, having taught Growlithe how to Dig to the best of her ability, but Shepard could tell his little Poison-type had finished hours ago and had been napping ever since. Lazy little bitch. God, he loved her.
"Hey, Coebalt," the Blackthornian began, scanning the skies as if searching for the stars. "I think I saw something moving up there. And before you get cheeky, no, I don't mean I saw a Pidgey. It was bigger." And I swear to Arceus, he added in his mind, if he says it's a Pidgeotto I will flay a bitch.
