Visira watched as Sparks patted herself down, running off to the med bay and leaving the asari with the half-dead Isiah and Gemini, who looked up at Visira fearfully. The asari sighed, almost content to just hold Isiah for the time being. 'She looks peaceful...' the asari thought, hearing Isiah grunt a little and grip Visira's waist. Visira gasped slightly, blushing a little at the gesture and locking her amethyst eyes with Gem's, smiling softly at the cat.
"Do not worry, honey." Visira said almost soothingly. "She will be fine. We all will..." The asari trailed off, finally registering the chatter in the med bay, and forcing her body to move, Visira walked slowly into the med may. She did not say a word, not even acknowledging Chakwas or the young biotic and lying the clone down along with Gem and sitting on the opposite bed. She looked over at her arm, wincing a little as the pain finally registered and she flexed her hand, watching the droplets of blood rise and fall as if they were alive.
Gently, and praying that Chakwas would not notice (although the doctor had the eyes of a hawk), Visira grabbed a tube of medigel from a drawer and a small roll of bandages from one of the cupboards, walking off and out of the med bay. She did not want to witness Chakwas scolding her for running into a fire, or watch her take Isiah's charred uniform off. The asari shuddered at the thought, walking past the now ashen Life Support room and remembering a scene from not too long ago.
'-Burning eyes locked with hers, lips locking and kissing feverishly--'
Visira stopped, placing her left hand on the cool metal of the wall. She inhaled sharply at the sudden intrusion of such a vivid memory, letting her hand leave the wall and roll onto her burn. She needed the reality check according to her brain, as the asari hissed, forcing her feet to move and leaving a thin, almost plum coloured smear along the wall.
' - hands locked tight, breathing hard, a name rolling off the tip of her tongue with a low sucking sound coming from her left--'
The asari entered the observation deck, her hand immediately going to her shoulder, tracing a small circle over the fabric of her uniform. She needed to forget everything - the events of the day, the memories that were haunting her and the unlikely idea of sleeping. She approached the bar, placing the medigel and the bandages down for later before going behind said bar to fetch a clean glass and grabbing a bottle of liquor in the process. Visira knew she would need it.
'- "I love you. For now and forever--"-
The clone's voice haunted the asari as she fumbled to open the bottle, pouring a shot and downing it straight. She repeated this process several times within two minutes as tears streaked down her face, the tears looking as if they were smearing her white markings which always looked more prominent when she cried. Visira slammed the glass down, almost breaking it and putting her head in her hands, grabbing a bar stool and slumping into it.
For the first time in what had felt like eternity, Visira was crying for someone she cared about. She had cried for those she had lost before - her friend during the reaper war who had been a potential bondmate, her father whom she lost at the age of 14, several comrades during a mission that went horribly wrong. It had been several years since she had felt like this, several years since she nearly lost Isiah twice in the same year when she had been known by a different name, a name the asari would not dare to utter now.
-"I have only one wish...Let me see her...That is all you owe me."--
Visira had seen that part in a meld not long after Isiah had been let out of hospital, cringing a little. Has Isiah only wanted her? Was Visira all that she loved, despite her caring attitude when it came to the entire galaxy?
"Levia...Isiah...No matter what I call you, no matter what happens...You promised me after they fixed you for the second time. You promised we could settle down and have a family..." It took Visira a moment to realise that those words had escaped her lips and before she knew it, her hand reached over for the medigel, slapping about a quarter of the tube onto her burned arm and rubbing it, wincing and cursing in protest as it slowly numbed the pain. She grabbed the bandages and wrapped up her arm up to her knuckles, knowing full well that Chakwas would give her an earful later, but she refused to care. Visira tied up the other end of the bandage, tearing it with her biotics and grabbing the bottle of liquor before standing up slowly, groggily walking over to a place on the floor and flopping down. She gazed out at the stars as her eyes swam a little - the alcohol was getting to her at last.
Tonight, Visira would be the one drinking till she forgot her name, not Isiah, and at that, she took another swing from the bottle, letting her mind go numb.
